Conversations with Carlotta Lennox

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlotta Lennox.

Hi Carlotta, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I am originally from Enid, Oklahoma.

I am a successful professional model with the Kim Dawson modeling agency in Dallas, Tx.

While vacationing on South Beach, I was discovered walking down the sidewalk on Ocean Drive by a model scout with the “Irene Marie” modeling agency.

After about a year I moved to Miami Beach and signed on with “Irene Marie” modeling agency.

My life is about to change forever.

A Famous designer from Paris, France named “Paco Rabanne” flew into Miami and held an open call casting for a show he was producing.

There were hundreds of models that showed up to the casting from different agencies all over Miami.  We were all hoping to get the opportunity to model for “Paco Rabanne” in Paris, France.

He narrowed the models to 25 and those 25 models would then compete in a fashion show at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami.  “Paco Rabanne” would then choose the top 5 models and fly them to Paris, France to walk in

Paris Fashion week.

I was one of the top 5 models that was flown to Paris to walk in the fashion show.  It was a whirlwind of events like I have never witnessed before.

The next thing you know,  I have signed on with  an elite modeling agency in Paris, France called“Click” and now I am preparing  to walk in the Paris Fashion week.

IT WAS SO AMAZING!!!  I also signed on with a “Click” in New York, City.

I decided to stay based out of Miami, and I would travel to Paris, Milan, and New York for many years walking in the fashion shows.  I love walking the runway it has been some of the best experiences of my life.

Years later I moved to Dallas, Texas where I signed on with the “Kim Dawson Modeling Agency”.

The Kim Dawson agency has been an absolute blessing.

You can always find me modeling at my favorite luxury store “Neiman Marcus”  and doing fashion segments on tv.

Over the years I have had a lot of young girls ask me questions about modeling.

Example: What is it like to be a model?  What is it like to walk in a fashion show?  How do you get started in Modeling?  How tall do you have to be to be a model?  How do you get an agency? etc…

In 2015 I decided to form a company called the “Model Experience.”

The Model Experience is a 6 week course 2 hours a week that I teach.  “At the request of parents”, I have also added Summer Camps.

It was very important to me that everyone got to experience a day in the life of being a model,  no matter your height, size, age, or looks.

I also wanted to instill in everyone that there is much more to modeling besides being tall and pretty.

Modeling is a business and can become a very lucrative career if you are professional everyday.

Just because you might be tall and pretty does not necessarily make you a model.

The Model Experience allows you to experience and learn everything there is about the fashion/modeling industry.

We learn how to walk and turn on the runway, pose for pictures, audition for commercials, learn table & phone etiquette, skincare, fitness, runway makeup and so much more…

Once word got out about the Model Experience, I started getting calls from pageant contestants asking if I would teach them how to walk in heels with poise, grace and elegance while turning and posing on stage for the judges.

Hence, The Pageant Experience was established.  To me these two industries go hand in hand.

I am also a “Lifestyle Host” for major networks and cable channels here in DFW Metroplex.

I love speaking and bringing new and creative ideas to the viewers on television.

I am also working on my own TV show called “Catching Up With Carlotta”

This show will get you all caught up on what’s new in Fashion, Food, Travel, Entertainment and so much more.

My hope is that it gets picked up by a network or cable channel in the near future.  If it is God’s will.

I am also the brand ambassador for “Yangu Beauty” Skin Care.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Sometimes the road is smooth and sometimes the road is extremely rocky.

Especially in the modeling industry were you really have to have thick skin. You might will be told the word no” more often in your lifetime as a model than anyone else.

One thing you can’t do is take it personally.

Sometimes the clients are looking for specific girls and you might not be the specific girl they are looking for.  That doesn’t mean you will not get bookings.  It just means that this particular booking was not meant for you.

You have to keep your head up and move on.  I believe there is enough work for everyone in this industry.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional fashion model, Tv Host, Entrepreneur, Wife, and Mother.

My gift is speaking, modeling designers collections on the runway, in print and on Tv and teaching, encouraging and sharing my knowledge with models,  pageant contestants and anyone who is interested in the fashion industry.

I am known for my unique way of teaching and bringing out the best in everyone.

I am proud to know that I always make a positive difference in the lives that I touch.

What sets me apart from others is the fact that they have not walked in my shoes. What I may bring to the table may be completely different from what someone else may bring.

My hope is that we all get a taste of something very good.

You can always learn something new from someone else.

What do you think about happiness?
We are all born with joy in our hearts.  Happiness is how we express our joy!  I love laughing, dancing, singing and just being plain silly at times.  To not have any form of happiness in my life would make me very sad.

Sometimes people only have negativity in their lives.  I love encouraging others so they can find their inner happiness.

It makes me so happy to know that I can make a difference in someone’s life just by giving them a compliment, smile, or just a word of encouragement.

My happiness is also enjoying my favorite Ice cream.

Spending time with my beautiful daughter.

Watching black and white movies on a lazy Saturday with my husband.

Listening to the bird’s chirp.

Watching the clouds float by.

Family gatherings with the whole family on the holidays.

My faith in Jesus.
