Conversations with Casey Mintle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Mintle

Hi Casey, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started out making products for myself, specifically lotion. A product that was high quality with limited ingredients (and natural and cruelty-free) and with a fragrance that didn’t cause those around me to have sinus issues. I started giving my creations to family and friends who loved them as much as I did and urged me to sell them. Because I have a nuanced nose, experience with essential oil blends, and a passion for concocting, I quickly moved on to candles, incense, energy sprays, and soaps. Too many mass-produced products today contain cheaply made synthetic fragrances that deter from a pleasant experience instead of providing one. I have a sensitive nose and found that I wasn’t able to tolerate most fragrances in products, they were either overwhelming, smelled synthetic, or didn’t meet quality standards, so I curated my own little arsenal of aromas consisting of essential oil blends or fragrances from reputable shops with high-quality standards for clean burning fragrances. My products all consist of limited, natural ingredients, and are handmade by me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Getting the word out about my products has been the biggest hurdle. Once people do try them, they fall in love.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My brand is all about authenticity. I craft natural products for the spirit, mind, and body. All of my products are handcrafted by me, with only a few high-quality ingredients. My products lean toward the esoteric/metaphysical but are most definitely for anyone who loves affordable, natural, quality, bath, home, and body products they can feel good about using.

My candles are coconut soy, with absolutely no paraffin or palm oil.

I’m known for my curated scents, especially in candles. Our sense of smell is an amazing gift, different aromas can evoke memories, affect your mood, or even make you salivate. I like to use this gift to evoke the essence of the names of my candles. You wouldn’t think “Crystal Witch” would have a particular scent, but if you smell the candle, you’ll be like, “I get it. I don’t know why, but I get it!”

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Going to the lake and out on the boat just about every weekend during the summer. I would come so tired, the absolute best kind of tired.
