Conversations with Coach Ricardo Miller

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Coach Ricardo Miller again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Coach Ricardo, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
Thank you for having me again. To introduce myself, I’m Coach Ricardo Miller, a professional speaker, author, and life strategist dedicated to helping individuals and churches maximize their potential. My life’s work revolves around effective living, which I define as thriving holistically in faith, family, finances, fitness, and fun.

My first book, Effective Living, captures the essence of my journey and philosophy. It provides practical tools for achieving a balanced life and living purposefully. My newest book, Burning the Rulebook, takes things further by challenging traditional success metrics and inspiring readers to rewrite their own paths to fulfillment. Both books reflect my personal evolution and commitment to authenticity.

Born and raised in the Bahamas, I moved to the United States over 25 years ago. As an outsider with a distinct accent, I’ve successfully built an international speaking career, proving that determination, adaptability, and resilience can turn challenges into opportunities.

What sets me apart is that I live what I speak. I believe in a holistic approach to life, and my work demonstrates that balance is achievable for anyone. Through my company, I specialize in helping individuals identify and overcome personal limitations while assisting organizations in creating environments where people can thrive.

Every step of my journey, from my Bahamian roots to my current work, has shaped my mission to inspire others to live effectively. I’m proof that embracing your uniqueness can lead to extraordinary success.

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Since our last conversation, life has been nothing short of transformative. On May 4, 2024, I ran for local government in Red Oak, Texas, and was honored to be elected as Councilman for Place 3. Serving this beautiful city has been a rewarding experience, and it’s a role I am proud to fulfill.

In July 2024, after 17 amazing years on staff at Pathway of Life Church in Dallas, I made the bold decision to resign and dedicate myself full-time to growing my company, Effective Living LLC. This transition has allowed me to focus on my passion for helping individuals and organizations thrive by creating lives they don’t need a vacation from. Each week, I have the privilege of speaking, coaching, and consulting with remarkable people across the United States and the Caribbean.

As I prepare to celebrate my 50th birthday on October 11, 2025, my focus is on scaling my company, building a strong team, and expanding my impact to serve even more people.

Alright, so let’s do something a bit more fast-paced and lighthearted. We call this our lightning round and we’ll ask you a few quick questions.

When I look back on my life, I expect to be proud of three key achievements. First, having reached over 1 million people worldwide, helping them discover their purpose and maximize their potential. These individuals will proudly say, “Because of Ricardo Miller, I never settled. I became all I was capable of becoming.”

Second, I will have lived my message fully, with my books, teachings, and speeches serving as undeniable proof of the principles I embraced. I didn’t just teach about life’s possibilities—I lived them to the fullest.

Finally, I’ll be proud of leaving an enduring legacy. My work will continue to impact lives long after I’m gone, solidifying my contribution to humanity and earning recognition from the Bahamas as a national hero for the impact I’ve made on the world.
