Conversations with Courtney Slater

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Slater.

Courtney Slater

Hi Courtney , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I actually started my career in the wellness world long before real estate ever crossed my mind. I became a personal trainer and group fitness instructor early on, which opened the door to spending more than a decade working in corporate wellness. Helping people feel stronger, healthier, and more confident was something that came naturally to me, and I loved the mix of coaching, education, and relationship-building.

After having my twin boys, I took some intentional time off. That season shifted my priorities in the best way. My kids have always been my “why,” and I wanted a career that allowed me to be present—to take them to school, show up at their games, and fully embrace being a sports mom. Real estate gave me the flexibility to build a business around my family while still doing work that connected back to my passion for helping people live well.

As I stepped into real estate, something clicked: I didn’t have to leave wellness behind. I could weave it into how I serve my clients and how I show up in the community. Today, I’m a North Dallas Realtor who still pours into women through my online wellness community, Nourished 31—helping them build healthier rhythms, deeper faith, and sustainable habits.

In real estate, I’ve carved out a niche as the “Active Lifestyle Realtor,” blending both worlds. I’ve become a true community expert—highlighting local trails, parks, Pilates studios, kid-friendly activities, and all the best spots for foodies who love healthy eats. My clients come to me not just for a home, but for a lifestyle—especially those who value movement, wellness, and a vibrant community where their family can thrive.

I also genuinely love the marketing side of real estate—the creativity, the storytelling, the ability to bring a home or neighborhood to life. I use that same creative energy I’ve always had in wellness to market my listings and to help my clients envision what living well looks like in North Dallas.

Today, I’m grateful to serve a mix of first-time buyers, families relocating to the area, and people searching for that next chapter of lifestyle living. Whether it’s inside a new home or inside my wellness community, my goal is the same: to help people live with intention, joy, and a sense of “this feels like home.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth road? Not quite. My journey has had plenty of pivots and stretching seasons, but each one has helped shape the way I serve today.

One of my biggest challenges was navigating major life transitions while still trying to stay grounded in my purpose. When I stepped away from corporate wellness after having my twins, I struggled with the shift in identity—going from a structured leadership role to being at home, especially while balancing the needs of multiple kids with very different personalities. It was beautiful, but it was also overwhelming.

What I learned during that time was how to create systems, rhythms, and environments that support real life—. I learned how to work efficiently, prioritize well, and lead with empathy because I understood firsthand what it feels like to juggle a lot while still wanting to show up well.

When I later entered real estate, that experience became one of my greatest strengths. I bring a level of patience, organization, and emotional awareness to my clients—especially families, first-time buyers, and busy moms—because I genuinely understand the stress that can come with major decisions and big transitions. I’m calm, I’m steady, and I’m able to guide people in a way that feels grounded, not rushed.

Even in my wellness community, those same lessons show up. I teach women how to build routines that work in their actual lives, not in an ideal world. I help them create peace, not pressure. And I show them that you can be ambitious and nurturing—present for your family while still pursuing your goals.

The struggles didn’t stop me; they refined me. They taught me how to blend compassion, strategy, and real-life understanding into everything I do—whether I’m helping a woman become more aligned in her wellness journey or helping a family find a home where their lifestyle can truly thrive.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Today, my work sits at the intersection of real estate, community, and wellness—all rooted in helping people live well and feel at home in every sense of the word.

As a North Dallas Realtor, I specialize in:

New construction

First-time home buyers

Listings, downsizing & move-up transitions

Clients who value active living and the lifestyle beyond the home

I’m known as the Active Lifestyle Realtor because I don’t just help clients buy or sell homes—I help them envision a lifestyle. I’ve become a true community expert, often spotlighting local trails, parks, coffee shops, Pilates studios, healthy restaurants, and kid-friendly spaces so clients can get a real feel for what life looks like here day to day.

What I’m most proud of is how I’ve blended my 15+ years of wellness experience with my real estate business. After a decade in corporate wellness, plus my background in personal training and group fitness, I didn’t leave those passions behind. Instead, I created a unique approach where:

Real estate clients get not only market expertise, but lifestyle guidance tailored to how they want to live.

Women in my Nourished 31 online community get faith-based wellness tools, support, and coaching that align with real life—not perfection.

My marketing is creative, community-focused, and rooted in storytelling… which directly benefits my sellers because I use that same creativity to market their homes.

What sets me apart?
I bring a holistic lens to real estate. My clients get a Realtor who understands neighborhoods, new-build processes, schools, and local amenities—but also someone who understands how people live in their homes. Their routines. Their wellness. Their lifestyle goals. The little things that make a community feel like “this is where I belong.”

On the wellness side, what makes me unique is that I’m right there living it too—a mom of four, a sports mom, someone navigating balance, faith, and healthy habits in real time. That authenticity resonates with the women I serve.

Everything I do—whether it’s helping a woman feel more grounded or helping home buyers/sellers find a home that fits their season—is centered around intentional living, community, and moving through life with purpose.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
If there’s anything I’d add, it’s this: your life doesn’t have to fit into one box. For years, I thought I had to choose—wellness or family, career or flexibility, creativity or structure. But I’ve learned that you can build a life that honors all the parts of you when you lean into your gifts, your faith, and the season you’re in.

That’s ultimately what drives both my real estate business and my wellness community. I want people—especially women and families—to know that it’s possible to live with intention, to create a home and lifestyle you love, and to make choices that align with who you truly are.

North Dallas is such an incredible place to do that, and I feel blessed to help people plant roots here while also supporting women who are working to take better care of themselves from the inside out.

Whether someone comes to me for a home, for community, or for wellness support, my hope is that they walk away feeling seen, supported, and equipped to live well in their everyday life. That’s what makes this work meaningful for me.
