Conversations with Dannyelle Mendoza

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dannyelle Mendoza.

Dannyelle Mendoza

Hi Dannyelle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my dessert business about 3 years ago when covid hit. I was doing t-shirts and custom items, but everyone started doing that, so I needed something different. I never thought about baking before then. I picked up my mixer and haven’t put it down! I started out with no-bake cheesecake jars. I had 5 flavors, and now I am over 40, and I have grown tremendously. I have grown my business into so much more. I do dipped treats and cakes. I also have dipped into the party business. To give my customers the whole shaaabang! My business name is Partyinonabudget. My goal is to provide the full party experience while working the customers’ budgets as well. My 3 littles are my reason why and I want something to hand off to them one day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, with any business, there are trial and error. Difficult customers and, of course, always something to learn from. My biggest challenges are the customers who are just difficult to work with. Wanting something basically for free. I’ve had to learn how to steer away from those problem customers and find which is the perfect clientele for me.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I take pride in the fact that I make all my own custom decor to go with my treats and desserts. I down everything on my own. No help. And I try to make sure my customers always want to come back. I am a mom of 3, so I always try to give specials and make items affordable yet luxurious.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I don’t think luck has anything to do with it. ITS GOD. His timing is always right.
