Today we’d like to introduce you to David Garcia.
Hi David, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My first job was at Little Caesars in Denton, and I often saw a customer whose truck was vinyl-wrapped with flames and advertisements. After seeing him enough times, I finally asked what he did for work and what his truck was advertising. He told me he and his brother owned a local martial arts school (Reding Martial Arts) and invited me to come try it out. After several months of seeing him regularly, I finally made the jump and gave it a shot. From the very first day, I knew I wanted to do this for the rest of my life. Fast forward to today, and my wife and I own our own Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai academy in Argyle – Rampage Jiu-Jitsu Academy. We are blessed to say that we’ve been open since 2019, survived the COVID pandemic, and are continuing to follow our dreams!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Owning your own business is rarely an easy task. Just 6-8 months after we opened our doors, the COVID pandemic hit. We went from steady growth and becoming financially self-sufficient to suddenly losing 75% of our student base. By the grace of God, we were able to stay open, and we are forever grateful for everyone who has supported us – past and present!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My wife and I own two businesses together: Rampage Jiu-Jitsu Academy (our martial arts school) and Pro Environmental (our septic design company). We are proud to say we’ve been entrepreneurs for nearly 11 years now. What sets us apart is our commitment to excellent customer service, our attention to detail, and our constant drive to improve ourselves and the quality of our work.
