Today we’d like to introduce you to Devante Reed.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Just a kid from Detroit Mi by way of Atlanta, GA, and Omaha, NE. I moved to Dallas in 2016. Vante: Detroit’s Rising R&B Sensation Introduction: In the heart of Detroit, a city known for its rich musical history, a new artist is making waves in the R&B scene. Vante, hailing from Motor City, is a talented musician who draws inspiration from legends like Babyface, Bobby Brown, Usher, and Kierra Sheard. His music can be described as classic, edgy R&B, and his creative process is all about storytelling and painting his music with emotions.
Expressing Positivity and Vulnerability: Vante’s music carries a powerful message of positivity and vulnerability. In a society where men expressing their emotions is often frowned upon, Vante makes it a priority to break through these stereotypes. His latest project, the single “I Know You Still Love Me,” set to release on October 20, promises to be a soulful journey, reminiscent of Usher’s “Let It Burn,” with a twist that unpacks his own feelings after leaving a relationship.
Collaborations and Future Hits: Vante’s talents extend beyond his solo work. As a natural songwriter, he recently demoed a song for another artist, and the collaboration was so successful that the artist insisted on keeping Vante’s verse in the final version. This promising collaboration hints at a hit in the making.
Staying Inspired and Authentic: What sets Vante apart is his commitment to authenticity. He maintains his individuality by staying true to himself, making music that reflects his own experiences and emotions. Vante believes in telling the truth through his music, connecting with his audience on a deeper level.
Balancing Music and Life: For Vante, music is life. He is putting music first and dedicating his time and energy to building his career. He’s on a mission to turn his passion into a full-time profession and doesn’t shy away from the hard work required to achieve that goal.
Milestones and Personal Experiences: Vante’s journey in the music industry has had its share of milestones and challenges. After parting ways with a record deal in Atlanta, he returned to his roots in Dallas and released a single independently. The success of this venture led to his own tour around Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Additionally, Vante has used his music to share deeply personal experiences, such as the loss of two children and the end of his engagement, allowing listeners to connect with him on a profound level.
Future Aspirations: As for his long-term goals, Vante’s dreams are straightforward—he wants to tour and dedicate his life to making music full-time. His heartfelt aspiration is to connect with his audience and give them a piece of his soul through his music.
Conclusion: Vante is more than just an emerging artist; he’s a storyteller who paints his emotions with music. His dedication to authenticity and his willingness to break societal norms set him apart in the R&B genre. As Vante continues to rise, his music promises to inspire, connect, and leave a lasting impact on the world of R&B.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I battled pancreatic cancer, and I lost two children, which kinda caused me to slip into a depression. I was also shelved after signing to a major label and scammed with a lot of songs I written for artist by the label claiming my songwriting credit. I consider it as being young and eager and not having a solid team to defend and stand for me. I learned, and it didn’t stop me because I’m back and stronger than ever.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a singer, songwriter, actor, designer, author, and motivational speaker. What separates me from others is I’m a man who is ok with tapping into my feelings and my emotions if it can influence and inspire others to be open and honest with themselves. We grow up, and we are raised with this stigma to not be open, and it’s “sensitive” to share our feelings, and that is complete BS. I want people to know that I have been through a lot of pain, and I want to help people who can relate. I want to use my platform to speak and encourage people to grow and don’t give up. Without my struggle and pain, I wouldn’t be who I am or be able to identify who I am. My music tells stories. It tells the truth. I want to bring blues back in r&b.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
God deserves it all. My grandmother and my aunt Tasha always encourages me and really see and understand my vision. They both push me and tell me I can do anything. My best friend Brittany has really helped mold and help me further define my artistry and what I want to leave behind. My brothers both are recording artist PK7 (Pierre Flowers), and Don Kies (Dawon Reed) have also supported and help paint the vision for my career and my mother she is the reason why I’ll never give up because if you know her, you’ll know she never takes no for an answer.
