Conversations with Elian Haan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elian Haan.

Elian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi, I’m Elian Haan—a trauma-informed executive coach, speaker, bestselling author, wellness strategist, and fitness studio owner. I help midlife professionals, leaders, and high performers reset, realign, and reclaim their power, from the boardroom to the body.

Helping others has always been my purpose. As a little girl, I dreamed of being a dancer. After a decade in dance, I moved into the fitness and wellness world, eventually earning certifications in life coaching and somatic healing.
Over time, what mattered most shifted.
Standing on my head in yoga or chasing a six-pack became less important.
Instead, I became obsessed with helping people bring together body, mind, and spirit—not just to feel better, but to live better.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been anything but smooth—and that’s exactly what shaped my mission, my methods, and my message.
There were seasons of deep burnout, even while I was leading others. I’ve navigated divorce, addiction recovery, immigration, motherhood, business reinvention, and the quiet but crushing identity loss that often shows up in midlife. I’ve known what it’s like to hold it all together for everyone else while silently unraveling inside.

There were times when I questioned my worth, doubted my voice, and tried to shrink myself to fit into roles that were no longer aligned. I used to do to much people pleasing, trying to fit in, proving myself.
The struggle wasn’t just external, it was the internal pressure to keep performing, trying to be perfect, and keep pretending I was fine.
Ultimately, these struggles didn’t break me. They refined me.

They led me to trauma-informed coaching, to nervous system regulation, to the deep somatic healing work I now do with clients. They pushed me to write my memoir 60 Miles From Neiman’s, to get on stages, to open my own studio, and to build a practice rooted in truth—not perfection.

Every “setback” became an invitation to rise, rebuild, and tell the truth.
And now, I teach others to do the same, with tools, humor, heart, and unapologetic realness. I’m not here to walk a polished path.
I’m here to help others find the courage to do the same.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
After decades in the physical and mental health space, I’ve come to believe one undeniable truth:
Success means nothing if you’re burned out, stuck, or silently suffering. In my coaching work, I blend mindset, movement, nervous system resilience, and leadership tools to help high-achieving individuals go from overwhelmed and overextended to unstoppable and fully aligned.

Whether I’m guiding a CEO through a reinvention, coaching a team toward purpose, or speaking at a summit or wellness event, my mission is always the same: Transform stress into strength. Trauma into triumph. Burnout into bold, radiant leadership.
I’m not just a coach, but I’m a practitioner, meaning, I applied the same strategies to myself, and still do. I believe you have to create a sense of emotional and physical safety, deep compassion, trustworthiness and transparency with people, especially when they work with me for a long time. My methods are deeply human and trauma-informed, but also strategic and practical. I teach and guide my clients to find their voice, their choice and empower them to move through and move forwards, with self-mastery, nervous system regulation, and sustainable success and accountability.
My coach approach is direct, joyful, and deeply transformational. I believe laughter is key to release and reset the moment.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My early mentors we definitely in the fitness and wellness space, Lawrence Biscontini (a Mindful Movement Specialist winning the highest number of awards from ACE, IDEA & Inner IDEA, Can Fit Pro, and ECA since 2002) and CEO of SCW Fitness Education Sara Kooperman were great leaders and influenced my abilities and skills to teach and speak with confidence, while I was able to feel inspired and energized by their events and conventions, and I was ultimately able to contribute my own ideas on the national fitness and movement stages.

When I opened my own coaching practice, I studied with several national known mentors and coaches, and stayed with the best. Eric Lofholm is a master sales trainer, speaker and author and Alok Appadurai is the founder and CEO of Uplift Millions, a coaching and training platform. I stay actively involved with their groups and opportunities, and they have both shown me how to move from solopreneur to an impact driven expert. I believe in working with a coach, every coach needs a coach as well. Heck, lol, everybody needs a coach, we all need someone to inspire us, cheer us on, keep us accountable and reflect on the week or month together. Terilee Harrison, business development coach, is my story/speaker coach and has guided me through many speaking gigs, and we have collaborated on virtual summits, live events and retreats.

Last but not least, my amazing VA team, without them I would be lost!
