Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Aaberg.
Hi Eric, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Absolutely! My journey as a content creator here in Dallas has been quite the adventure. It all started with a passion for creativity and a love for connecting with people through the internet.
As early as I could remember, during my childhood, I always enjoyed connecting with others online and making friends – whether it was jumping onto Club Penguin back in the day or playing video games on my PlayStation 3. I made a lot of friends growing up gaming and eventually started a YouTube Channel making Minecraft videos. Who knew years down the road that it would lead to me doing content creation full-time as a social media influencer and agency creative.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a content creator is different for everyone. Some may have different niches, types of content that they create, different audiences, and might be on completely different platforms. When we think of content creators nowadays, we might think of TikTok Creators, YouTubers, and Twitch Streamers, when back in the day, there were only platforms such as Vine and Classic YouTube.
Short-form video content has been on the rise, and that’s what primarily my content consists of. I create short comedy skits with my friends for hundreds of thousands (even sometimes millions) of people to enjoy. Some of my videos have gone more viral than others, and it’s led to fun opportunities that I never thought I’d be able to get (such as brand collaborations with Chilli’s, Emma Chamberlain’s Coffee Brand, American Eagle, CampusTech, and even becoming a TikTok Gaming Partner).
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a variety and gaming content creator here in Dallas, Texas, and I focus on short-form video content primarily on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. You can find me on all social media platforms @itsericaaberg and my gaming channels @itsericgaming.
I’m also a social media content creator and strategist and have worked for large brands such as Complexity Gaming, Optic Gaming, Envy, Dallas Fuel, and Evil Geniuses – I’ve ran TikTok pages for some of these brands and had amazing success doing so. For Envy’s TikTok, I helped increase the audience through short-form videos by 300,000 in less than 3 months, and for Complexity, I grew their TikTok audience to over 185,000+ followers in less than 8 months.
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something that might be surprising to many is that I used to hate being in front of camera growing up. I’m not sure what the nervousness was, but when I was in high school, I remember hating my Communications class as I never wanted to be caught on camera/film. I eventually got over the fear of being on camera, overcame the insecurities from “pressing record,” and started making content. Now, I absolutely love being in front of camera, and find comfort and enjoyment in creating content.
