Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Nelson.
Hi Erica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well to start, 2010 I just got out of a real abusive relationship. I had to drag myself to the ER by walking on an injured leg. Had to overcome and somehow climb a gate. To get to the ER. II still went back. prayed and fasted to get strength to leave my kid’s father. I found strength in God. And hope and love and peace. I left after 10 yrs., got my own house started from scratch. Threw all my all furniture away and did not have nothing in here but a roll-away couch. Fast forward I prayed for a Godly Man. A hardworking man to love me and my kids, I met him two days after my bday. Fast forward: We married 2 yrs. after. : My ex made it seem as if I could not do or accomplish anything. But my husband encouraged me and stood by me and loved me, support me, and nurtured me. So, two yrs. ago I decided we needed something more. I needed to do something artistic. I needed to find me finally. Kids getting older needed something for me. Decided to start with candles. Family supported me. Then did decor candles. Then did sundae candles. Then move up to epoxy resin candle decor and decor. Trays, lights, signs, dominoes, etc. Thinking of something new every week. It’s not easy but keep doing what you love and pray and it will work for you. My past, husband, kids, and family got me through. Got actually include my kids to help and make their own money with my business. I’m still a working progress. But guess what I’m here not going nowhere. I’m always thinking of new ideas. Fun note: wanted to start off with EricasWineGlassCandles lol. Started off with Candles… And explored more things. We are so blessed and highly favored. And happy I can tell my story.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It seemed smooth in the beginning. You know something new. Everybody wanting it. But then things get old. Always have to think of the new big idea. “What’s Next” I’m an overthinker. So, imagine how I feel or think lol.

I specialize in candles, candle decor, oils, epoxy resin designs. All molds. Trays, dominoes, cupcake trays, lights with decor, etc… And still learning and doing new things.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
What has worked well for me is my past, my present, and my future. My God always trying to make him my #1. Still learning. My passion and goals. My kid’s future, their future kids whenever they have them. I just want to be a brand and inspire people. Let them know you can do it too. Also, to help the homeless and less fortunate. I have work in progress ministry Angels of A New Destiny. Me and my family make care packages, donate clothes, Coats and shoes. I make it a family thing. Because no matter the age kids need to see and know. So, they won’t be misled when they see kids or people less fortunate than them.
