Today we’d like to introduce you to Faniyah Garrett.
Hi Faniyah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When I was around the age of 2 I did my first photoshoot. I was always told by my parents that since then I was made to be in front of the camera. After that I focused more on music and never really did anymore photoshoots until I was 18 years old. I did lots of modeling research and was very interested in learning and growing in the modeling industry. Over the years I’ve worked hard to improve and show up better each time I’m in front of the camera. I’ve collaborated and worked for different designers, brands, models, photographers, videographers, events, and businesses. I manifest to work continue working with more in and outside of Texas.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a few struggles. Graduating college with my Associate of Science Degree, figuring out the adult life, while learning the ins and outs of the modeling industry. It was tough but I got through it.
The biggest challenge has been being diagnosed with endometriosis since 2022. I’ve been battling with endometriosis for years now with having 2 surgeries. I’m still battling it even now but I won’t let it take over my life. I do my best to continue to thrive no matter what I face in life.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m most proud of being an influencer, upcoming artist, and nail tech.
I am always looking for new ideas and ways to improve and express myself for different concepts for photoshoots. I am very versatile when it comes to modeling and would love to get into different styles of modeling now that I have more experience. My model page is @niyahthevoice
I am also working on my music. I’ve been singing since I could talk and know I have the voice to make it far in the music industry. I’ve always know when your an artist you have do lots of photoshoots and be in front of the camera almost everyday. Being a model now with experience will definitely take me far in the area of the music industry.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe taking risks in life may be necessary. We all at times sit and wait for things to happen and wonder what could’ve been. For years I’ve done that with my original music and modeling. Since I’ve started modeling I’ve taken risk to be apart of certain events and found myself making connections with people who have helped me build my modeling portfolio in ways I hadn’t imagined before.
One time I took a risk and ended up meeting long term friends and connections within the modeling industry that I’m grateful for and still have til this day .
