Today we’d like to introduce you to Fluffy Frames Studios
Hi Fluffy Frames, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
About two years ago, we were trying to make our Sunday volunteer time at a local shelter more meaningful. We noticed that dogs with better photos got more attention and visits. That inspired us to dust off our old 2017 camera and capture as many images as possible, giving these rescues a better chance at finding their forever homes.
A year later, we expanded our efforts to include our community and share our art more broadly. We are incredibly grateful for the support from the DFW pet community, which has allowed us to share special moments with their pets and create lasting memories.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey has definitely come with its challenges—everything from marketing to setting up systems and learning new software.
We’re incredibly grateful to tackle this challenge together as a couple (Jamie and Kevin). We’re always chatting about our goals and objectives, and so far, Fluffy Frames has been amazing for our personal growth and our relationship. We’ve learned to communicate better, play to each other’s strengths, and always have each other’s backs.
We knew we’d face obstacles when we started, but it’s been a true team effort.
Having a solid teammate is key to any business’s growth. As the saying goes, “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” We’ve not only developed new skills individually but have also grown closer as a couple.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Fluffy Frames Studios provides an off leash, stress free environment and experience to capture your pet’s authentic personality through our lens. Prior to the sessions, we provide pets the opportunity to explore and get familiar with the environment while we plan the final details of the photoshoot with the owner. We also tend to shower the pet with treats because, who doesn’t like treats right?
In regards to what we are proud of? We are proud of the affordability we provide people. As millennials ourselves, we understand the economic climate and how the cost of living has gotten out of hand the past few years. However, we believe that capturing that special pet memory should be accessible to everyone. We get extremely excited to read our customer’s feedback when they receive their pictures.
In the past months we have felt extremely humbled and thankful for the support and love the community has shown us. We started this venture with no expectations and our progress is beyond our wildest imagination, to say the least. We started with a flimsy backdrop holder made out of $20 worth of PVC pipe from home depot, which kept on falling apart with the slightest wind, so having our own studio is extremely rewarding.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Fluffy Frames Studios was born out of the changes we experienced after COVID-19.
As professionals, we faced significant shifts that transformed our understanding of what “normal” meant.
One key lesson from this experience is that during tough times, like a global pandemic, we’re reminded of the importance of empathy, love, and grace—both for ourselves and for our pets and customers. By prioritizing these values in our interactions, we’ve grown stronger in the face of adversity.
