Today we’d like to introduce you to Frances López.
Hi Frances, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Honestly, it all started with my love for nature and experimenting with herbs. I’ve always been drawn to plants and natural remedies, and at some point I realized I could bring that into skincare. I started making soaps for myself and friends just to see what worked, and people kept asking me for more. From there, it slowly grew into Josspure. It’s been a lot of trial and error, learning as I go, but I love that I get to make products that feel thoughtful, simple, and effective. It’s really about following what feels right and letting the work speak for itself.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not exactly smooth, no. I’d be lying if I said it was all easy. There were plenty of late nights figuring out formulas that actually worked, sourcing ingredients, and just trying to make sure everything felt right for the skin and the brand. Learning how to run a business while staying true to what I believe in was definitely a challenge. But honestly, those struggles taught me the most and made the wins feel that much better.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make handcrafted soaps and body care products, mostly using natural ingredients and botanicals. I like to focus on creating things that are gentle on the skin but still really effective. People usually tell me they notice the little details—the textures, the scents, the way the bars feel when they lather. I’m proud of keeping the products simple, honest, and thoughtful, and I think what sets me apart is that everything I make comes from actually understanding the ingredients and how they work on skin, not just following trends.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Honestly, the biggest lesson has been to trust the process and not rush things. There were times I wanted everything to happen overnight, but the reality is that growth, learning, and figuring out what works takes time. Staying patient, paying attention to the little details, and trusting that the right people and opportunities show up when you do the work—that’s been huge for me.
