Hi George, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
TrapBingo is based in New Orleans, LA, but we consider Dallas, TX a second home as we have performed in Dallas over 5 times since 2019. TrapBingo was truly a random idea born out of a game night at my home. All in attendance kept saying how much fun they had and how much they wanted to “play” again.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Without a doubt, the biggest struggle was the Texas Bingo commission!!! They kept deeming us as “illegal” gambling as opposed to a themed party. Other than that, it would be convincing people that we are not your grandma’s version of bingo!!!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
TrapBingo is a two-man SUPER team. It is made up of Anthony Jones (DJ Hawaii5ive-O) and myself (George Bush). Anthony works for a pharmaceutical sales company, while I am US History Teacher at a local high school. Outside of our families, we are most proud of being two black creatives who consider themselves “community organizers”. What sets TrapBingo apart is that in our event, ALL are guaranteed a safe space. 🗣No pretense or pretending allowed, just good times with good people…
