Today we’d like to introduce you to Georgia Roumbas.
Georgia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My career in dance started at the young age of 18 in Montreal, Canada. I started training as a Ballroom & Latin dance instructor with a local dance studio. It was at this moment I knew dance would become my life. Throughout the years I have danced, performed & taught in Montreal until I moved to Southern California in 2002. I continued teaching classes, performing & choreographing couples wedding dances which I enjoy.
I had the opportunity to also film & choreograph Eddie & Tamra Judge wedding opening dance from The Real Housewives of Orange County. It was great exposure for me as a local dance instructor & I enjoyed the 15 minutes of fame!
Two years ago, my family & I moved to McKinney, TX and I opened Fancy Shoes Ballroom Dance in the heart of downtown McKinney. It has been such a wonderful opportunity being a part of this community & growing my studio with wonderful people. I look forward to sharing my love of dance for years to come.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Life is always going to have challenges & obstacles along the way but I see every obstacle as a moment of growth & learning. Dance is not the easiest careers but perseverance & commitment will get you through the tough moments. Being a studio owner has its challenges but I think every obstacle that has challenged me throughout my career has made me who I am today and I would not change anything.

Fancy Shoes Ballroom Dance is a charming little boutique studio in the heart of downtown McKinney. Our goal is to connect people through dance. Couples come once a week and this becomes their weekly date night. Our Ladies Latin group meet once a week and enjoy learning a choreographed routine while having fun with other ladies.
We also offer wedding packages to newly engaged couples!
There is something for everyone!

We offer couples date nights & ladies’ night out so collaborating with local restaurants & bars is a good way to promote one another. Fancy Shoes Ballroom Dance is always excited to work with others!
