Today we’d like to introduce you to Itohan Omoughie
Hi Itohan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born into a humble family of 6 and am the 3rd child have always loved fashionable cloths as a kid , I will want to change some cloths my mum would buy for us and she will scold me and put it back to the original style . I started making beautiful cloths when I was 18 years old but because every seamstress I will give my fabric and design they always sew what they like and not the style I had given them
So I decided to go ahead and learn how to sew and design and I haven’t regretted that decision ever since . As much as am a Fashion designer I were so many hats as an author, a compere and also run an NGO were am able to give back to less privileged women and their kids
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all , because as much as it was my passion it solved my need
The challenges I encountered was finances
It gets to a stage were you need to expand but can’t because the finance is not there or when client are meant to make their complete payment that you must have planned for,but the client will not pull through
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I make fashionable cloths that is worth wearing with a mixture of contemporary and african. Am known for given the clients what they ordered for in a very hospitable manner
As an author am able to put my thoughts and share some of my challenges to make people be better and live a better life
