Today we’d like to introduce you to Jarrell Ford
Hi Jarrell, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started rapping when I was in middle school I used to freestyle every day in the courtyard with my Homies I continued freestyling all throughout high school. Once I graduate and got a little older. I started writing songs and putting things together. Once I left the state of Texas I ended up in Portland, Oregon moving around and move to Arizona and I ended up in Mexico. I was in Mexico for a little while once I moved back to Dallas in 2019. I started taking my music very serious. I came back in contact with friends who still did music. Linco214, proverb on da mic an big capo that really gave me a fresh start with those three guys from GGM (go Getta music) they helped me get myself in the door from there I just pushed whatever I could produced whatever I could as much as possible started doing music videos got podcast interviews in 2023. I met a lady named Candyyy Rodriguez. At my very first show under my brand at Dallas lit fest a few months later she became my manager and has pushed me to do and be great with my stage. Presence challenged me with more songs and EP and here I am today. A well-known local artist in Dallas.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road I struggled with my stage presence a lot because I wasn’t used to being the spotlight an having so much attention. I was very uncomfortable. I was trapped in my shell. My manager candyyy help me get comfortable with being uncomfortable interacting with people while doing my music during shows helping me do better as a entertainer, which helped me a lot
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
But I’m mostly proud of how far I hav gotten how I was willing to adjust to change and what I would do to perfect my craft my craft is my everything. It’s my passion. Music means the world to me I wanted to be able to get into all music, no matter the genre, even though it may have been a challenge I haven’t seemed to fail. I’ve shocked myself more than anything because I never thought that I would be on songs and those type of genres before and now that I have it sounds great and it makes me want to continue doing more
