Conversations with Jasmine Kapoor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Kapoor.

Hi Jasmine, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
It all started from when I was a child. My mom’s side of the family has their own textiles factory along with a designer name back in India. From a very young age, my mom would always dress me up in handmade designer clothing and design my South Asian clothes from scratch. I vividly remember south Asian fashion being a huge part of my life. Watching my family design clothes in intricate ways and making those visions that were on paper come to life, was always so interesting to me! From picking out fabric, buttons, lace- it intrigued me. This eventually led to me designing and in some cases even making my south Asian clothing. Being able to make my own visions come to life brought a feeling like no other.

As I grew older, slowly this love translated into my westernized clothing, which inclined me to share my passion with all those around me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everyone knows that social media is not all glitz and glamour. For me, juggling my career in healthcare administration and wanting to be a fashion blogger/influencer was and is still very difficult. I strive for perfection in every aspect of my life and that can tend to lead to stressful times. This has led me to step away from social media at times so that I could solely focus on my career.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I go on 3–4-day meditational retreat out of the state every month.
