Conversations with Jehad Wadi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jehad Wadi.

Hi Jehad, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey began 14 years ago when I left Syria and immigrated to the United States. I settled in Minneapolis, which I now proudly call home. I initially worked with my uncles while earning my master’s degree in Strategic Management and Leadership. After that chapter, I started my own family—I got married and was blessed with two beautiful daughters, who now work alongside me.

Together, we run our family-owned business, Peace Middle East Café in Richardson. It is a Mediterranean specialty coffee shop built around a modern fusion concept I created to blend rich cultural traditions with contemporary cuisine. We offer savory, beautifully presented dishes such as Arabic tacos and Turkish brunch, along with authentic Middle Eastern desserts, refined French-style pastries, and signature Arabic cheesecakes.

We are also a specialty coffee house featuring a nonalcoholic bar, açai bowls, and much more. Open daily from 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM, we have built a strong reputation and are loved by students, hardworking professionals, and families alike. Our café offers a warm, cozy, and relaxing atmosphere, where we deliver an unforgettable customer service experience from start to finish.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every journey begins with a difficult first step. Turning a dream into a business was not easy—especially without financial backing and having to build everything from the ground up. Leaving Minnesota, where I knew everyone and felt comfortable, to move to Dallas knowing no one was a major leap of faith. Choosing to establish something beautiful and unique in the heart of Dallas was a challenge, but one I am truly grateful I accepted.

That decision changed me in many ways. It made me wiser, introduced me to incredible people, and allowed us to build a strong, supportive community around our business. We are deeply involved in giving back, supporting schools, nonprofit organizations, veterans, and the homeless. We do this out of gratitude and appreciation for the community that embraced us and helped turn our dream into a reality.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the founder and owner of Peace Middle East. We started as a coffee shop and have grown into a destination dessert shop, offering top-tier Arabic, French, and American desserts infused with Mediterranean flavors.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Being consistent, dedicated and open for constructive criticism and hearing feedback have helped us improve and develop and transform the business and the best way possible
