With 20 years of experience in marketing, I’ve built my career around helping businesses grow and thrive. When my longtime friend decided to start Big D Mechanical, his new HVAC company, I saw an incredible opportunity to combine my professional expertise with my personal values. I’ve always believed in the power of family businesses, especially ones built on quality, integrity, and hard work. So, I made the decision to switch fields and join him on this journey. Supporting his vision and helping Big D Mechanical grow has been both a challenge and a passion, and I’m proud to be part of a company that’s making a difference in the HVAC industry.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Switching to the HVAC industry after 20 years in marketing of a different industry definitely hasn’t been a smooth ride. It’s been more like navigating a winding road with steep learning curves. The biggest challenge has been diving into a completely new field. Learning the ins and outs of HVAC—everything from the technical jargon to understanding systems and maintenance—has been a huge adjustment. But it’s also been incredibly rewarding. Each day, I learn something new, and it’s been amazing to pair my marketing experience with this industry to help Big D Mechanical grow. It’s a challenge, but it’s a challenge I’m proud to take o

I specialize in building relationships and crafting strategies that drive growth as both an Account Executive and Marketing Director at Big D Mechanical. In my role, I focus on connecting with businesses to understand their HVAC needs and secure maintenance contracts while also developing marketing initiatives to showcase our expertise and values.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine 20 years of marketing experience with a passion for people. I’m not just helping a business grow—I’m creating long-term partnerships and a brand that stands out for its quality and integrity.
I’m most proud of being part of a family business that truly cares about its clients. Watching Big D Mechanical establish itself in a competitive industry and knowing I’ve played a role in that success is incredibly rewarding.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
When it comes to finding a mentor or networking, my biggest advice is to be intentional and authentic. Look for someone who aligns with your goals and values, and don’t be afraid to ask questions or seek guidance. A great mentor isn’t just someone successful they’re someone who genuinely wants to see you succeed.
For networking, it’s all about building genuine relationships. Don’t approach it as just exchanging business cards; take the time to really connect and understand how you can support others. Joining groups like Master Networks has been incredibly valuable for me. Being part of a community that focuses on growth, leadership, and collaboration has opened so many doors and allowed me to meet people who inspire and challenge me.
What’s worked well for me is staying consistent. Whether it’s attending events, following up with contacts, or being active in professional groups, showing up and staying engaged has made all the difference. Networking isn’t a one-time event it’s an ongoing investment in relationships.
