Conversations with Jordan Hodges

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Hodges.

Hi Jordan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Hi! I started Olive and Ivory Boutique after I went through rush recruitment in college. I needed a dress or outfit for each day of the week, now I paid for college myself and didn’t have an arm and a leg to pay for a week’s worth of new outfits, the week after I paid my tuition, BUT I picked up back-to-back shifts where I worked and got some awesome outfits. After that week I knew there was a whole group of girls that were also in my shoes and I wanted to start a boutique that had quality and stylish clothing at stellar prices.

My goal is to make as many people possible feel amazing in their bodies without feeling guilty in their bank accounts.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course not! Running a business sounds like a dream, making my own schedule and being my own boss is awesome. However, on the flip side, there is always ups and downs in the market, constantly working on my growth, and weekends away from my friends and family to work markets

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
One of my favorite things about running this boutique is seeing the look on people’s faces when they find a piece of clothing that truly makes them feel good about themselves. I say all the time, I may be my own worst salesperson because I don’t want to just sell you something, I want you to love it and feel great in what you have.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Running a boutique during covid was a curveball. Ensuring that each customer felt safe while shopping in person or online was our first priority. I started contactless delivery and curbside pickup at our first location.

Pricing:

  • Dresses averaging around $30
  • Tops averaging around $25
  • Pants starting at $20
  • Shorts averaging around $15
