Conversations with Jordan Lunkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Lunkins.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Where do I even begin, my story on how I became a blogger and influencer was a long journey to start with. This journey started back in 2017 and during that year that is when my blogging journey started. I remember sitting at home thinking ok what can I do to make my voice heard for young mothers that are trying to make a living kind of find their place in the world career-wise and just overall becoming a better mom as well. I felt intitled to use my voice on what I’m doing to follow that path but also be a bomb mommy. why not share to other women that they are not alone in this but in a community of other young mothers like me. I wanted young mothers and overall moms feel like you can still be an awesome mom but still achieve your goals at the same time. And in that sense, I felt compelled to use my voice for that. After a year and half, I ended up moving to Houston and I was there for 2 years while living there I decided after a year that I wanted to not only speak to mothers but women who are not mothers, so I was now preparing to speak on anything and everything regarding women all women things. While I was now entering a phase of adding a new part to my blog, I felt pretty good about it, it was going pretty well but it was not going the speed I wanted it to be. I had to figure out what can I do differently. I ended up moving from Houston and I felt a bigger push to add into my motivation, moving back to Dallas was the answer I ended up meeting someone and he pushed me even harder and gave me that drive to go hard. I was like wow! I can really do this guess what I got to work due to his motivation, I started to climb higher with everything even my Instagram I was walking away from 3,000 to now 20K followers. You know I’m still learning but one thing I will forever keep doing is being that voice for every woman.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road was bumpy at first for one I’m a single mommy so I was faced with challenges, but I was pushed to my higher self from someone I love very dearly who still pushes me till this day every day, when he gave me that push even though I already had that talk with myself I felt unstoppable, and I still do. I owe a lot to him for helping me become the strong, confident, and learning to become that successful woman.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been a teacher for many years specifically a kindergarten teacher for Montessori schools. I have even had my share with working at a few daycares with pre-k. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I will always love it dearly. But I have recently walked away from teaching and focusing on other passions and hobby’s that I had on the back burner. What sets me apart from others is that I’m probably one of the most positive people you have ever met. Hence it may be coming from me teaching children. But most of all my personality is very striking and bubbly that is what sets me apart.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I will say stay consistent and stay motivated. You can have all the talks with yourself you want but if stay consistent and motivated you will succeed, once you have that personality finding a mentor will be worth it, and finding one will be quick. We all need a mentor and never be afraid to find one we all need a good leader in our life.
