Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Shields
Hi Justin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been into dressing well since before I could even make my own fashion decisions! Beginning as a toddler my mother set the foundation as she’d put me in full suits for church each Sunday. It continued through elementary, junior and high school before I started advising clients in college. I began my content creation journey after constant pushes from my wife and sister-in-law to share my outfits with other men to teach them to do the same. As a man who is naturally “put together” I wanted to give others inspiration to do the same while debunking the myths of the level of difficulty to do so.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Relatively smooth with the understanding that perspective is everything. My content itself is easily digestible and convenient for all; however, increasing my reach has been challenging. Every content creator deals with the struggles of “the algorithm” but I’m committed to consistency which I believe will ultimately prevail.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m known for men’s fashion inspiration and lifestyle content. I’m a Learning and Development Consultant by day, husband and father of three by night. My prized possession is my family. What sets me apart from others is my relatability and accessibility in comparison to other content creators. I understand that I’m a regular guy with a gift to piece myself together nicely who is obsessed with helping others understand that they can do it, too.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My wife and sister-in-law are directly responsible for me beginning my content creation journey. They’ve complimented and appreciated my style sense for years but encouraged me to go public and share with the world. In fact my wife created my account, shot and posted my first viral video!
