Today we’d like to introduce you to Jyoti Kandel.
Hi jyoti, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is jyoti kandel, born and raised in Nepal, butwal. Graduate from One of the prestigious Collage NATHM and did post graduate from Londonand complited masters in hospitality from Cal state.
worked as hospitality instructorin nepal, later worked in london in varous stars hotels and also worked in Losangeles and fortworth in brands like hilton, IHG ,viceroy, omni as food and beverage managers.
mived to dallas and alwas wanted to have own restaurant. so i find my business partner in same community where i live.
Got the opportuninty to take ove one of the restaurant space where it wasnt doing good. we took over and start selling indian food. we have great support from keller community , Restaurant was inagurated by Keller city mayer. which really helped us to showcase our food and hospitality . Would like to thank the community people for supporting us continiously from day one
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasbeen smooth road so far. Initially struggled on getting good vendors. and suppliers. On the other getting Alc licenceing was hard tjingvbut we manage to get it on 4 month of operation. we had high turnover initially so it was hardto pridict the business but now we both know how to operate in better way. Shreeram takes responsibility of kitche and i look over all the outside work like marketing , hiring, sales and customer services.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I manage over all business. Any thing that relates to accounting , Sales , marketing, and hiring and training part is my job. where as my other partner focuses on kitchen.
How do you think about happiness?
when guest are satisfied with the food and services we provide that gives me more satisfaction.
We do support some small events and function as sponsership that also gives me a kind of pleasure.
lastly when our employees are happy when they are happy. because Happy employees makes happy employees
Pricing:
- our pricing is very cheap. Aroma all you can eat buffet isomly $16.99 which was increased resently . we been serving this from last two years.ou
- All the curries are bellow $17 and served with basmati rice
- varities of Naan cost below $4 each
