Kareena, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Sanya Events started during the time my husband and I lived in the city of Sanya on Hainan Island, often called the Hawaii of China. The energy of that place stayed with us. The way people gathered, celebrated, and enjoyed being together shaped how we thought about experiences and connection.
When we moved to Dallas, we brought the name and the vision with us. Sanya Events wasn’t a side project. It was a clear idea that we were ready to build from day one. We already knew the level of service we wanted to deliver and the kind of experience we wanted people to feel.
Today, that same energy still guides our work. It shows in our approach, our consistency, and the way we show up for every client and every event.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running Sanya Events means there’s always something to figure out, improve, or adjust. We’re navigating a competitive market, managing back-to-back events, and handling the challenges that come with being a small team.
There are days when equipment needs replacing at the worst possible time, when schedules shift, or when we’re juggling multiple moving parts with tight deadlines. Growing while maintaining quality takes constant focus, and we’re still in that process. But even with the challenges, we’ve become more resilient and resourceful. Every obstacle has taught us how to streamline, communicate better, and raise our standards.

Sanya Events is an entertainment and event services company that focuses on creating smooth, high-energy experiences across the DFW area. We provide DJ services, MC services, sound, lighting, onsite coordination, and event facilitation to keep everything moving the way it should. We support private celebrations, corporate functions, and community events, and we’ve become known for being organized, reliable.
We specialize in managing the atmosphere and the flow of an event. The music, the timing, the transitions, and the overall energy all matter, and we treat those details like they’re essential to the success of the day. Because we’re a small team, clients work directly with us, which creates consistency, accountability, and trust throughout the process.
I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built. People contact us not just for a DJ, but because they want an event that feels supported, well-run, and easy for them as the host. What sets us apart is that we don’t just provide services. We help guide the room, manage the moving parts, and facilitate the flow so the event feels effortless for everyone else.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is seeing people feel connected, supported, and taken care of. I spend a lot of time building spaces where people can meet, celebrate, learn, or feel seen, and there’s a real joy in watching it come together. Whether it’s a community event, a wedding, a festival, or a simple gathering, I like knowing the experience feels smooth, thoughtful, and memorable for the people involved.
I’m also happiest when I’m creating. Planning events, shaping ideas, building brands, helping people tell their stories, bringing energy to a room, or connecting folks with the right resources
