Today we’d like to introduce you to Keonna Harrison
Hi Keonna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
“As a husband-and-wife team, we have always had a heart for helping people and making a meaningful impact in our community. Our passion for Black culture and history drives us to share our journey with others, inspiring and uplifting fellow Black men and women to push through adversity and embrace their greatness. Through our work, we strive to create spaces that celebrate our heritage, empower our people, and remind us all that our stories, struggles, and successes matter. Together, we rise.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not a smooth road at all, but because God is in the drivers sit, we knew that we had to keep going and let him direct us. We had push back from banks, trials with the building, personal obstacles and financial issues all hit us at once when we started making moves towards our dream of becoming business owners
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are the founders of Cast Your Care Foundation our non-profit organization founded in (April 2022) We provide essential needs to our community by taking donations and having community Give Aways that provide essential needs, resources, food, and fun. (We make donating Fun)!! We also own Kemet Social Beauty Supply! We opened our Beauty Supply September of 2024. We are a one stop shop that provides popular and convenient hair products and accessories. We also have a braid & loc room that offers affordable natural hair styles! We take proud in the ability to offer our community a family friendly environment that caters to their hair care needs and offers products and knowledge that will help with not only their hair, but mind, body, and spirit. We stand on the putting God first to serve his people effectively. What sets us apart is we are people who have heart for our community, we are not just people looking for your business, we want you to feel like family and have a place where you can feel motived, empowered and encouraged!
What do you like and dislike about the city?
We appreciate Texas! We are from Chicago Il (Keonna) & New Orleans LA (Clinton). Texas gave us an opportunity to do something we probably could’ve done in our hometown, become business owners! We are forever grateful to Fort Worth Texas because this is also the place where we meet and fill-in love!
