Today we’d like to introduce you to Khrystal Dawn

Hi Khrystal, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It was about a month into quarantine and everything around me had changed within the blink of an eye. One second I was working 12 hour days at the office, next I was working from home with no projected return date. This gave me a lot more time to look at what I hadn’t noticed before: my failure to keep my health in check. I knew I had to take back control and this is when my keto journey began.

I spent hours researching what keto was, the best ways to start and how to maximize my results by implementing fasting. It was sort of like trying to teach myself a new language. Over time I learned the benefits of cutting carbs, which also helped regulate my thyroid. I also participate in intermittent fasting, which allowed my body to go into a state of burning fat for food/energy/fuel throughout the day.

In total I have lost over 80lbs, which I still am amazed by to this day. I have helped a few start their journey and they have successfully maintained their goals. While I have a small community, I dedicate myself to helping and showing whatever I can to help others reach their highest potential by learning what foods and lifestyle can provide the healthiest state of being.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were definitely struggles. Mostly with cutting carbs. I am a big fan of that Texas roadhouse bread – so when I learned it was a NO I was not elated at all. Also fasting throughout your day is challenging at first. I will say that I’ve learned to not be hard on yourself if you do have a cheat day. One day wont hurt months of progress.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I post my journey to how I lost 80lb while displaying food suggestions, workout suggestions and even give a breakdown on how to properly calculate carbs to keep oneself in ketosis. Every piece of advice and guide I give is free of charge. My main goal is to show that regular people can take back control and reach their goals by simple food intake modification.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
My view on risk taking… DO IT. When I started posting and documenting my journey I became more confident. I have always kept my social media presence geared towards fun and interaction. When the subject of me losing weight came into play, I was nervous about putting it out there and failing. Trial and error is the name of the game. I think everyone should take those risks because we never know how powerful we are until we try.
