Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiara Rodriguez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m 24 years old, I grew up in Puerto Rico and moved to Ohio in 2014. February of 2020 I moved to Texas with the intent of changing my life for the better. I lived in a hotel and worked at the airport. I came across a lash course online and took the leap of faith and I worked so hard, saved my money and got my own apartment. Now, end of 2021, I am a student at ogle beauty school to get my esthetics license and currently doing lash extensions, waxing and facials.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t. I had to work really hard because I moved to Texas alone with no friends or family. But I wanted to make my parents proud so I never gave up. Being alone in a big state is really hard.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a lash artist, I love natural lash looks and you can tell when you go on my Instagram.
I also do Waxes (full body wax) and Facials. But my main and favorite thing to do is lashes! I LOVE IT!
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
My plans are next year starting with getting a suite and working in an area like Fort Worth/Arlington. I want to always work for myself and have my own spa.
