Conversations with Lacey Snyder

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacey Snyder.

Hi Lacey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story in fashion didn’t start in a boardroom—it started on the sales floor. My very first job was in retail, and I was immediately hooked. I loved the energy, the styling, the connection with customers… but more than anything, I loved seeing how fashion could completely shift someone’s confidence.

In college, I stepped into a buying role for a boutique, and that’s when everything really clicked. I went from selling pieces to curating an entire story—figuring out what customers wanted before they even asked for it. It taught me how powerful thoughtful buying can be when you truly understand your customer.

After graduation, I moved into the corporate world with a luxury menswear brand, which gave me a whole new perspective. I got to see how brands are built, how collections come together, and how important those relationships are between brands and retailers. From there, I went on to manage a wholesale showroom, and that’s where I really started to feel a disconnect.

The buying process often felt transactional, rushed, and honestly… a little outdated. It didn’t reflect how modern retailers shop or how relationships should feel in this industry. And I kept thinking—there has to be a better way to do this.

That’s what led me to create Lace Collective.

I wanted to build something that felt more human. A buying experience that’s collaborative, supportive, and actually enjoyable—where relationships are built over coffee, not just quick sales calls. Because at the end of the day, boutiques aren’t just placing orders… they’re building their businesses, their identities, and their communities.

So for me, Lace Collective is more than just a showroom. It’s a partner. Whether someone is opening their first boutique or scaling an established one, I want them to feel seen, supported, and set up for real success.

And that’s really what drives me—helping great brands and great retailers grow, together.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges in my journey was taking a leap on myself and starting my business right as COVID hit. It was honestly terrifying—there was so much uncertainty in the world, especially in the retail and fashion industries. Everything felt like it was standing still, and I was choosing that exact moment to bet on myself.

There were definitely moments of doubt, not just internally but from others as well. Starting something new in such an unpredictable time wasn’t what most people would call a ‘safe’ decision. But in a way, that challenge became my biggest motivator.

I’ve always been someone who quietly uses doubt as fuel. Being underestimated or questioned pushed me to work harder, think more creatively, and stay fully committed to the vision I had for my business.

Looking back, that season shaped me more than anything else. It forced me to become resilient, adaptable, and confident in my decisions as a business owner. I had to trust my instincts, pivot when needed, and build something strong even in uncertain conditions.

Now, I see that time not as a setback, but as the foundation of everything I’ve built. It made me a stronger leader, a more thoughtful partner to my clients, and ultimately gave me the confidence to know that I can handle whatever comes next.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m the founder and owner of a wholesale fashion showroom, where we represent and connect contemporary and elevated lifestyle brands with retailers across the U.S.

We work with a wide range of accounts—from major retailers like Dillard’s, Anthropologie, Cavender’s, and The Buckle, to over 3,000 specialty boutiques throughout the Southwest. Our focus is primarily women’s apparel, footwear, and accessories, with a strong mix of pieces that feel both on-trend and timeless—young and fresh, but still sophisticated and wearable.

What we’re really known for, though, goes far beyond the product mix. We’re a relationship-driven showroom, and that energy is honestly what sets us apart. From the way we show up at market to how we support our accounts year-round, we’ve built a reputation for being warm, honest, and genuinely invested in the people we work with.

We hear it all the time—buyers will say they come to our showroom not just for the brands, but for the experience and the energy. And that’s something we’re incredibly proud of. We’ve created a space that feels welcoming, fun, and real, while still being highly professional and results-driven.

At the core of everything we do is trust. Over the years, we’ve built deep relationships with our retailers—many of whom have become not just long-term partners, but true friends. That sense of connection and loyalty is what I’m most proud of. It’s also what continues to push us forward as we grow.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
As a kid, I was always really outgoing and driven. I had a strong personality early on and was very sure of what I liked. I was constantly drawn to fashion—whether it was clothes, putting outfits together, or anything in the beauty space.

I loved shopping from a young age, not just for the fun of it, but because I genuinely enjoyed styling looks and experimenting with different pieces. The same went for beauty—I was the kid who couldn’t wait to try makeup the moment my mom finally gave me the green light.

Looking back, I can see that same energy has always been there: creative, determined, and very opinionated in the best way. I’ve always known what I like, and I’ve never been afraid to go after it.

That same drive and creativity has carried into adulthood, where I now get to run a business with my extremely supportive Husband and our incredible team. We feel so lucky to have built Lace Collective together.
