Conversations with Lana Hunter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lana Hunter.

Lana Hunter

Hi Lana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
The Sundress & Big Hat Brunch™ organization uses the ultimate brunch experience to give women a place to gather, have fun, and brunch with purpose. Our purpose: to build community, connections, and collaborations. Countless women have created lasting and meaningful friendships as a result of our brunch experiences.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every journey has its ups and down. We started in Raleigh, NC, with 50 people in the room. Now we’re in 5-8 cities a year with hundreds attending, some traveling in from other states and countries, and even attending in multiple cities yearly. No two experiences are alike; sometimes, the numbers don’t add up. But we believe that everyone in the room is exactly who is supposed to be there.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an Events Manager and Planner. I can manage events from conception to completion or whatever my clients need. I am known for my engaging, encouraging, and entertaining events. And I am most proud to continue to show up and serve even when things get hard because I firmly believe in what I’m doing. I know that I’ve been called to it!

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Consistency, the ability to pivot, a willingness to ask for help and learn from others.
