Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Turney
Hi Leah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Howdy! My name is Leah Turney and I’m a small town country girl who turned her love for nature and art into a business! As a young child I always new I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. I carried a camera and camcorder around with me at all times. That’s telling my age a little bit haha! Throughout high school I got commissioned for paintings so I let my camera collect dust. Fast forward to college, I took a photography class and I was again hooked. After I graduated with a bachelors in fine arts, I started working in marketing doing model and product photography as well as graphic and web design. I was doing so much work in my own business on the side that I was able to quit my job in April of 2021 and have never looked back. Now, I serve clients all over the world and have made many friends in this industry and even a lot of my couples have remained life long friends. I am living my dream life doing the best job in the world.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh definitely not haha! Anyone who owns a business (and is honest) will tell you it is not easy. It takes so much passion and education learning how to have a successful, well run business not just on the outside but under the hood as well. One of the biggest struggles was I booked and shot 69 weddings in 2022 during the post covid wedding boom. Through working 80 hour weeks that entire year I was able to develop a very efficient system and learn and grow so much in my business.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a wedding photographer so I specialize in telling love stories! My work focuses on genuine moments and emotions and is very documentary style. I also shoot a lot of film photography so my work has an artistic, nostalgic feel. My couples are adventurous, artistic, and sophisticated.

I love how art thrives in our city and I hate the traffic haha!
