Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis.
Hi Luis, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It has been an evolutionary journey to arrive at where VERDE Interior Design is today. My background in the creative space spans two decades having worked in advertising, marketing, social media, event planning and design at both the corporate and agency level. It wasn’t until late 2019 that I officially launched VERDE Interior Design as a boutique creative studio that would help merge all of my previous experiences into one creative studio offering a combination of interior design and branding services.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t always been smooth or linear, but I fully realize that I have been fortunate to have a great support system to help make the journey easier. Starting a business is never easy. I’ve made mistakes, sometimes costly ones, along the way which have helped shape me into the entrepreneur that I am today. Not valuing my time and talent and undercharging, absorbing the cost of projects because I am afraid of losing the client and not managing my time correctly as I run multiple businesses have all been learning opportunities for me. The important part is learning from your mistakes and adapting accordingly in order to not make the same mistakes twice.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My creative studio, VERDE Interior Design, provides interior design services for both residential and commercial clients. We have been fortunate enough to work on some great residential projects from room makeovers to full home remodels. Our commercial clients include a sushi restaurant, a Mexican food restaurant, two boba / tea houses, a law firm and a financial planning company. The unique aspect of my business is that we are able to expand our scope of services for our commercial clients. After providing them with exceptional interior design for their space, we then offer additional creative services like social media, website design, marketing and advertising to help their growing business. They like it because they get to continue working with a team that they love and trust and we love it because we get to continue growing the relationship with our clients.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
A business is never run or supported by a single person. Despite being the face of my businesses, without the support of my family, friends, partners and colleagues, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Entrepreneurship means late nights working on presentations, running more errands than you ever think you would run and bouncing ideas off of someone else. This is where my support system has truly shined. They have supported and anchored me when I have needed it most. For that, I am eternally grateful.
