Conversations with Marie Malone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marie Malone.

Hi Marie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My business, The Soulstice Collection officially began in September of 2020, but it has been in the making since I was in high school. My mother taught me everything about jewelry making and I used this new hobby as a form of therapy. It calmed me, challenged me, but most of all it always made me happy to tap into my creative realm. After being a collegiate athlete and scholar and then playing professional basketball for 6 years, I moved to Texas and started making jewelry again after a 10 years hiatus. I love everything about creating and so my business started off with just jewelry and expanded to skincare, sewing, crafting, and more! Everything I create comes from deep within my soul and I want to not only want to give my customers unique products, but also an experience. I want them to know that what they are receiving was handmade made with my love.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being a start-up small business and funding everything on your own is not always an easy thing. But from my experience in sports, I know that nothing you want, especially when it comes to success, will be easy. You have to be mentally tough and able to put in countless hours of work to get the things you desire. Self-doubt is a huge thing as well. You want customers to love everything you have because you do. You want 5-star reviews on your products, but it’s not always like that so being able to take constructive criticism and apply that to making your business better is the key.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I make all handmade products using economically sourced and (mostly) organic products. The preservation of the Earth is important to me so everything I make can be recycled. Jewelry (bracelets, necklaces, earrings, waistbeads), all-natural skincare (body butter, face wash, feminine care, scrubs, chapstick, face mist, hair, and face oils), candles, hand-dipped incense sticks. custom sewn jackets, t-shirts, and headwraps. I am proud of all of my products and I use and wear almost everything I make! Fan favorites are definitely my “Soul Butter” and “Soul Incense”.

What sets me apart is that everything I make is unique. I designed and made it so you won’t find anything like it! Whether it’s the fragrances and ingredients I use or the designs.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I love working with people! I have my whole life and have always worked with a team so having people on my team who can see my vision and understand that what I do is more than just creating is top tier for me.
