Hi Marisela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
All started while planning my wedding, almost 10 years ago. I realized I enjoyed planning and thought about helping to alleviate the stress of every detail. Although I always thought about studying it as a profession, my priorities shifted when I became a mother. I wanted to be present for my children and have the flexibility to attend to their needs without feeling pressured. After the pandemic, I discovered my passion for balloon and party decoration and invested in professional courses to master this skill. I was fascinated by the logistics and art behind each balloon arch. It’s a business that requires balance, detail, and creativity. With Balloonistic, my goal is to bring joy and accompany my clients in celebratory moments. I focus on detail and an artistic touch to stand out from others. As I like to say, “Balloonistic is more than just balloons.” It’s a business that allows me to combine my passion for creativity with my desire to be present for my family. I love seeing the smiles on my clients’ faces when they see their events come to life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ugh, I’ve been totally battling my own inner critic. Thinking my work’s never good enough and that I can’t handle big stuff. It’s the worst. Sometimes, I feel like I’m my own worst enemy, but I’m working on silencing that voice and trusting my instincts. I’ve learned to take small steps towards my goals and celebrate my achievements along the way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a dentist with multiple passions and talents, I started Balloonistic as a side project that allows me to express my creativity in a different way. My true passion has always been art and graphic design. I love interacting with people, helping, and expressing my creativity through various artistic mediums. I’m passionate about painting, photography, and all forms of graphic art. With Balloonistic, I can bring my digital ideas to life and create custom designs for my clients. I specialize in balloon decorations, backdrops, twisted balloons, and personalized designs. I’m proud to be able to balance my personal and professional life without sacrificing anything, and I’m grateful for the process.

I forgot to mention the struggle with the people that underestimate you, your work, and what it becomes your life.
