Hi Matt, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My wife and I had a dream to bring joy to our community by starting a business. We wanted to find something that was fun, interactive, and not your ‘routine’ business, which is where a mini donut trailer came into the picture!
The best part of this experience has been meeting and working with our General Manager, Stephanie. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge. Stephanie is an entrepreneur in her own right, having previously ran a fleet of her own catering trailers across the South. With her experience, talent, and energy, our DonutNV dream has launched in our hometown and seen rapid success.
Stephanie creates sweet, life-long memories at every event. When she sets up, people crowd around the trailer to watch as she makes melt-in-your-mouth mini donuts. She puts on a show as she tops each donut with unique toppings like dirt n’ worms, fruity pebbles, s’mores, and more!
She has a developed a following around McKinney, with ‘regulars’ who show up before she opens and wait to get their coveted NVous iced coffee and fresh squeezed lemonade. Stephanie is one of those rare people in life who has unlimited talent and exceptional skill!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting a business has certainly not been a smooth road! In the first months of operation, we navigated generator issues, electrical issues, flat tires, and several other obstacles. Through it all, Stephanie has held on to her infectious positive attitude and kept us going, even when we were at our wit’s end.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what Stephanie does?
Stephanie prepares and drives the trailer to every special event where she sets up and serves up hot, made-to-order mini donuts and memorable moments as her crowd comes back again and again to try every donut flavor!
If you had to, what characteristic of Stephanie’s would you give the most credit to?
Never-ending enthusiasm and willingness to lead. Stephanie shows up and expertly navigates large festivals with over 10,000 people; serving lines that stretch down the block, as well as catering private, employee appreciation events with more intimate crowds. With her leadership and direction, she guides our team to success and FUN at every event.
