Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Chester
Hi Melissa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have been in the healthcare field since 1998, working in various aspects of the field, as a unit clerk in a surgical ICU, to pharmacy technician in an institutional pharmacy, medical staffing, accounts receivable rep, billing and coding, working my way up the ladder. As a single mom raising my son and working at Cowboys Stadium as a suite supervisor and Eddy Deans’s bartending events all on the side, I also obtained my bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration management. I worked my way to Practice Administrator in 2012 for ProAssist Surgical. We were then acquired by American Surgical and was then moved to Director or Revenue Cycle, working there for 12 years. In 2016, working as Director of Revenue Cycle and many different surgeons throughout DFW, I began looking into Vitamin IV Therapy, mainly to help support Bariatric patients, as they risk dehydration and malnutrition due to taking in less portions and fluids. In 2018 I partnered with one of our nurse practitioners and opened Infusalounge Wellness Spa in a one-room salon suite. While still working full-time, I built a nice client base, serving patients for overall health with the nutrients provided. Along the way, my partner entered retirement, and I met Dr. Pickett; after the first year together, we opened our stand-alone brick-and-mortar location in 2021. Through dedication and lots of research and vetting of different pharmacies and therapies, in Oct of 2023, I was able to quit my full-time job and focus fully on the spa. I learned a lot about nutrients and how they affect the body cellularly.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have had a lot of ups and downs along the way. I have honestly been juggling two jobs since I was 18 and raising a son on my own. Learning how to run a business in general on my own and maintain staff. I have implemented streamlined processes and procedures so that staff is knowledgeable about our products and services and how to speak and recommend therapies. As a self-funded company, it has always been strategic in achieving growth and paying myself as well lol. I think with most obstacles and challenges we face through anything that is how we grow.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We currently have 24 different IV infusions, ranging from Myers Cocktail to Athletic Performance and Recovery, which has helped high school kids intensely in achieving their goals on the field and academically, Migraine infusion, Aches & Pain, & Hangovers.
Pre and Post-Op surgery infusions assisting in recovery and downtime, Skin Lightning/Beauty infusions, and Immune Response are designed to assist with knocking out any virus, among others that assist with many different modalities as well as overall cellular health that can improve cellular energy, brain fog, and memory recall.
We have incorporated specialty infusions that can also assist with alcohol/opioid detox and withdrawals, Parkinson’s’, Arthritis, Lupus/Fibromyalgia, Diabetes, Hormone and Thyroid regulation, Nurapathy, and never pain with high dose Glutathione.
We offer GLP-1 weight loss injections, along with high-protein meal plans, MIC Lipo injections, diet and detox infusions, that help boost your metabolism so that your body can function optimally internally while losing weight and maintaining muscle mass.
When incorporating the Micronutrient testing, we saw that for those with deficiencies or borderline deficiencies, this is how disease metastasizes in the body. We then customize an infusion based on what your body needs.
That then leads us down the path of regenerative/integrative medicine, utilizing MSC Stem Cell therapy via IV and Joint Injection, IV Ozone, Heavy Metal detox with Chelation Therapy, Gut Health Testing, High-Dose Vitamin C for Cancer, nerve pain and neuropathy, assisting chiropractic patients, and PRP Therapies.
We also offer a range of at-home therapies, such as GLP-1 weight loss injections Peptide Therapy, NAD+ and TRT
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I have to say god has put people in my path at the right times, through this journey. I have developed a network of clients that have turned to friends and coworkers who have helped me along the way. I have developed personal and professional relationships with people with good integrity and character who have ironed out the bigger things such as SEO, marketing and website services, even with the budget was very little. And of course my partner and friend Dr. Pickett for believing in me and helping me achieve my personal goal. With their strategic work on helping with awareness and word of mouth and their dedication to believing in what we are trying to do for others, I wouldn’t have come as far as I have. I feel fortunate to have helped those individuals we have reached and see such positive outcomes.
