Hi Nelly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Piamonte coffee was born in October 2023, as a continuation of my father’s lifelong passion and the legacy of three generations dedicated to coffee. Growing up and walking with my dad at the coffee farm, I learned that coffee is not just a crop; it’s a story of family, hard work, and faith.
After living 5 years close to my family’s farm and obtaining a specialty coffee grade, I felt the courage to change our story. My father never made money growing coffee and he died with the hope that “one day” the story will be different. That day is now. Richard and I moved from Colombia with a shared dream — to build something meaningful from my roots. With determination and faith, we created Piamonte Coffee, a brand that reflects our love for quality and our passion for sharing the rich flavor of Colombian coffee. Quality is our promise: every cup delivers the care, tradition, and excellence we stand for. We want Piamonte Coffee to be known, not just for its taste, but for the heart and story behind it because farm to cup, the difference is real. In harvesting time more that 50 families of pickers depend on us and we are committed to them and to other family members that have work hard to make this happen.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Long days and many working hours
Exposure to big festivals and investments.
Challenge: it is an educational process, and it takes time. 1 cup at the time.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the oldest of 3 siblings and the only female.
I worked in the banking industry for 15 years as a customer service and sales manager. I managed groups of team members, and I had a highly achieving, well ranked teams.
I am proud of the goals that I have achieved in my life, I am a very determined, self-motivated individual, dependable and confident woman.
Proud: Time, I took to learn English as a second language (determined to do it in a timely matter)
What set me apart:
Very optimistic, self-motivator and very capable to embrace changes with very positive outcomes
