Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Naomi Romero-Merccado.
Hi Nicole Naomi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey as a content creator back in 2014, sharing makeup, fashion, and everyday life online. What began as a creative outlet slowly grew into a community of women who resonated with my message of confidence, authenticity, and embracing who you are at every stage of life.
Over the years, my platform evolved alongside me. I became a mother, navigated loss, moved from Puerto Rico to Texas, and learned how to rebuild and redefine myself through each season. Those experiences shaped not only who I am, but the kind of work I wanted to put into the world.
In 2024, I officially launched Nicole Naomi Brand, a print-on-demand fashion brand inspired by color, culture, and storytelling. What started as an idea turned into runway shows, media features, and collaborations, all while I continued to grow my family and my voice as an entrepreneur. Today, I balance being a mother of three with running a creative business, showing up online, and building something meaningful, proving that growth, reinvention, and purpose can coexist.
This journey has been anything but linear, but it has been deeply intentional. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited for what’s still unfolding.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all, it has definitely not been a smooth road. My journey has been filled with transitions, challenges, and moments of deep uncertainty. Balancing motherhood, personal loss, and entrepreneurship has required constant resilience and reinvention. There were times when I had to rebuild my confidence, my direction, and even my energy from the ground up.
Navigating growth while caring for my family, experiencing postpartum seasons, and learning how to show up consistently while evolving personally was not easy. There were also challenges in learning the business side of creativity, turning passion into something sustainable, making strategic decisions, and trusting myself through trial and error.
That said, every struggle shaped my clarity. The hard seasons taught me discipline, patience, and self-trust. They forced me to slow down, realign, and build something that truly reflects who I am today. Looking back, the obstacles weren’t detours, they were part of the foundation.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a creative director, fashion designer, and content creator focused on storytelling through color, culture, and lived experience. I specialize in building meaningful connections through fashion, designing pieces that feel expressive, inclusive, and rooted in real life, not trends alone.
I’m best known for blending creativity with authenticity. My work reflects motherhood, identity, and evolution, and I intentionally create designs and content that allow women to see themselves, at every stage, represented and celebrated. Through my brand, runway shows, and digital platforms, I merge visual storytelling with community building.
What I’m most proud of is building a brand and a voice while navigating major life seasons simultaneously, growing a business, showing up creatively, and raising a family. I’ve learned how to honor both ambition and presence, and that balance is reflected in everything I create.
What sets me apart is that I don’t separate life from art. My work isn’t curated from the outside looking in, it’s lived. Every collection, collaboration, and project carries intention, emotion, and personal truth, which creates deeper resonance and lasting connection.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’d love to share that my journey is still unfolding. I believe creativity doesn’t have to pause during life’s busiest or most demanding seasons, it can grow alongside them. If there’s one thing I hope readers take away, it’s that you’re allowed to evolve, pivot, and build something meaningful in your own time and in your own way.
