Hi Nola, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I played marimba all throughout school, but I’ve always been drawn to the drum set, so now that’s what I do.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, just like learning anything. Comparison was something that I struggled with for way too long, I try to keep in mind that the learning process is different for everybody.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m currently in school for practical effects, the concept of turning a human into something visually horrifying is beautiful.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Why be on this earth and not take risks? Joining Dead Skin despite being an unseasoned drummer has opened so many doors for me in my musical and creative career, that would’ve remained closed had I not made that decision.
