Over 11 years ago, Azad Khan started Radio Azad, a South Asian radio station that entertains, informs, and inspires. Together with Ayesha Shafi, and their team of RJs, they developed a new trend of engaging the audience in meaningful and thought-provoking discussions on a wide variety of topics not normally discussed in the South Asian community.
Azad’s knowledge and uncanny ability to connect with his audience has established him as a pioneer in the genre of South Asian Talk Radio. His topics in the flagship show, Bol Keh Lub Azad Hain Teray, range from human psychology, self-development, philosophy, poetry, politics, international affairs, and cultural issues.
Radio Azad has a team of over 35 programmers and is heard in 120 Countries all over the world and in 50 States. We have programming in 9 different languages: Hindi, Urdu, English, Gujrati, Bangla, Nepali, Telegu, Persian, and Arabic.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The biggest challenge we have had is trying to help all those in our community who need it. There are so many issues and so many people reaching out to us to help them, that sometimes it gets overwhelming, but we try our best.
Through our shows, we discuss topics that impact people’s lives and try and help them overcome their problems and lead better and more fulfilled lives.
We also try to keep a balance between providing entertainment and information!

Radio Azad is for those people who constantly strive to better themselves. Our community is used to listening to mindless music and endless commercial breaks on desi radio. However, Radio Azad’s seasoned and experienced radio programmers provide a very high level of radio content that is creative, entertaining, and informative. Our goal is to fulfill a void in quality South Asian programming, one that meets the highest broadcasting standards while attracting a wider audience and better business opportunities for our sponsors.
We discuss topics that are swept under the rug and not discussed in our community, be it mental health, self-development, domestic abuse, glass ceilings, marriage, work-life balance, relationships, health, nutrition, environment, cultural integration, politics, and many, many more.
