Today we’re excited to be connecting with Renee Tacheny-ceo again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Renee, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
Hi, my name is Renee (Tacheny) Ceo and I have been a photographer since high school. Since then covering many of the usual venues a photographer would encounter such as family portraits, engagement, newborn,, maternity, weddings, corporate head shots, corporate events, schools, senior portraits, seasonal events and models. Many being indoor studio shoots and some outdoors on location. Some with groups of people, individuals, pets and custom vehicles.
I kept my web address and linked it to my fb photography page where I keep a backup album should they lose their copies, this has been such a time saver for me.
Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
The brand name of my business is ”Renee Photography”. I am the sole photographer and at some large events have help with lighting and extra shooters.
I think what has set me apart from other photographers is my experience shooting models and the model training I’ve been giving for years to the models that I photographed. Because the model training is such an important understanding for the model to have which prepares them for what they can expect and more importantly what is expected of them from the time they promptly show up and perform during the shoot. Helping them to position (pose) themselves, master the mouth definitions and expressions and to know how they look without having to see in the camera. A self confidence. I also have extensive experience with editing software allowing for enhancements or corrections if needed.
Although I have had my own studio for many years I have recently closed my studio which is now a way better fit for me. I was finding myself doing more and more work away from the studio and liking it, that I couldn’t justify having it. I do enjoy the mobility and freedom of new perspectives of shooting. It is more challenging to do a shoot in peoples homes because of the fact you’re bringing the studio to them on a much smaller scale and this is really where I find my experience kicking in with understanding and adjusting my equipment to get what I’m looking for.
I love the possibilities that come with outdoor photography. Even though I have an image in my mind of what I want to capture in a moment, sometimes a pearl is thrown my way that wasn’t expected like a slight wind gust that moved hair and a dress to capture it perfectly, a stray cat from nowhere laying in my frame or a dragonflies & butterflies landing and perfecting an image. Always something new to look forward to.

Life is often about tough choices – can you talk to us about your thought process, strategy or philosophy when it comes to making difficult choices or tradeoffs.
Life is nothing but choices, living is constantly making decisions. I taught my children and offer this advice all the time whenever I’m working with people, young or old.
There are no do overs so live life with intention when you’re making any decision. That decision does not just impact your life, it can affect and impact many lives from one choice that we make. Always do the right thing and don’t compare yourself to someone else, be the best you that you can be.
I have been through a lot over the years and have lived by those words above. Wise advise from my pastor James Reeves. Do you want to be remembered as a character or a person with character? I choose the latter.
