Conversations with Rich O’Toole

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rich O’Toole.

Hi Rich, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Rich O’Toole. I’m a Texas County Singer from Houston,TX that now lives in Oak Cliff, TX (Dallas) I have sold over half a million albums with over 50 million streams on Spotify & Apple Music and 23 top ten songs charted on the Texas Country Billboard top 40. I started playing music in college at Texas A&M University and was very lucky to turn it into a full time job running my own record label PTO records. I have been on tour since 2007 with over 2300 tour dates performed. I have also released successful iPhone apps such as TexMoji & The Taco Setlist. I am currently recording my 10th studio album that is untitled as of now. Being an entrepreneur in the music industry has truly become a gift and I love to create. Moving to Dallas has opened a lot of doors for me in the music and food industry. I truly believe they go hand in hand. I hope you enjoy my new app “The Taco Setlist” and I hope to see you on tour as well. All tour dates are at RichOToole.com

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has never been a smooth road. As an entrepreneur you have to constantly adapt to challenges of changing technology and competition, as a kid I suffered from panic attacks and over coming that has become one of my biggest challenges being on big stages and television. But everyday is a gift creating new art.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a songwriter first and foremost. The gift of writing and producing is one of my biggest strengths and I absolutely love to wake up and create every day. What sets me apart is the words from my Mother “Never Ever Quit”

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I have learned is to stay humble and work hard. Hard work is over shadowed by ego. When you drop your ego you have more room to create.
