Today we’d like to introduce you to Ritual Remedy Lindsey Joseph.
Hi Ritual Remedy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The creation of Ritual Remedy began years ago with the start of our natural wellness journey. Back in about 2011 my son and first child was constantly sick. As a first-time mother I immediately ran to the doctor for a remedy, a diagnosis, a quick fix. It was always just a medication and not really looking into the root of what was causing the illness. After time (several years) and coming to the realization of what was going on, I started doing my own research. I started to dig into homeopathy and holistic wellness. By 2015 and two daughters later, this began a new way of thinking and new way of living for our family. Learning how to take care and heal our family from a more natural aspect. Over the years herbal remedies and natural healing have fascinated me. How taking natural things from our earth, land, plants, oils, can heal our ailments. Just like our ancestors did.
After having my last child, my body changed. My hormones changed. My skin changed. I was noticing different reactions to the same over the counter products I had been using for years. And these were considered “clean” products. But upon looking at their ingredients they still had words I could not pronounce and things I would have to look up to see if they were really natural and “clean”. Sadly, they were not. That is when I created my first product. Natural deodorant. I played with this recipe several times before I got it right where it needed to be. Making this one product opened my eyes to the many possibilities, that have now grown into about 40 different products Ritual Remedy has created. Ritual Remedy was created out of a desire to offer a more natural way of healing and taking care of your body with high quality, organic ingredients you can feel good about putting in and on your body.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road, I would say no. Starting a business is a daunting and intimidating process. There are so many steps you have to take that until you start you do not realize. Were there times I thought it was too much? Absolutely. But in the back of my mind if I did not push through, I would not get to where I wanted to go. And with the natural wellness industry taking off, you have to go all in and do it right. Have something that sets you apart from the rest. There has definitely been blood, sweat, and tears along the way.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have always been an artist. This is an area I thrive in and love to my core and honestly believe how my brain is wired. If I could design and create all day, I would. I love curating graphics for branding, formulating new recipes for products, and currently designing our Ritual Remedy Studio from the ground up.
One comment I have noticed from customers time and time again and what I believe sets Ritual Remedy apart from the rest, is how they love the product’s branding. Surprisingly, I think have heard it more from men than women. Ritual Remedy is very intentional when it comes to marketing. Besides having amazing ingredients, what is going to draw your eye to a product? What is going to make you pick it up to learn more about it, what you see on the outside. Clean packaging, sustainable goods, a bottle you could possibly reuse and not chunk in the trash when you are done with it. From a creative aspect, every detail of a Ritual Remedy product is well thought out.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Favorite childhood memory would be hiking the Grand Canyon with my dad. This I believe is also what has made me an avid hiker today, and a lover of being outdoors with nature.
