Rocio, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
My name is Rocio Alcaraz, and I am the co-founder of Hairmosa Beauty Academy, Hairmosa Be You, and AR Salon & Suites. I currently serve as the Director of Education, while also thriving as a hairstylist and a creative entrepreneur.
With 20 years of experience in the beauty and barber industry, I’ve developed a wealth of knowledge and innovative ideas to inspire and empower my clients and students. My approach has always been rooted in positivity—I’m known for my upbeat personality and my commitment to making every day productive and unique. No matter the challenges, I focus on setting and achieving daily goals to ensure that each day feels purposeful and fulfilling.
While my journey hasn’t always been easy, perseverance and dedication have helped me, along with my teams, gain recognition for the hard work we pour into our students, salons, and clients. I’m passionate about creating opportunities, fostering creativity, and continuing to shape the future of the beauty industry.
Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Our journey has been one of consistency and resilience. After COVID, we faced significant challenges, but through determination and hard work, we were able to overcome them.
Now in our seventh year, our academy has grown tremendously, with students and clients from all walks of life. Many of our students have set ambitious goals, such as opening their own salons or even starting their own beauty academies. Over the years, we’ve collected countless inspiring stories of transformation and success. When we first started, we were only two years into the industry, and now we have a wealth of experience and achievements to share.
What’s next for us is always on our minds. What began as a single beauty academy has expanded into salon suites, and we are now actively developing our online merch store. Each step of this journey has been a testament to our passion and commitment to the beauty industry.
When you look back on your life, what are three things you expect to be proud of?
I am incredibly proud of the wife, mother, and educator I’ve become. I wouldn’t change a single aspect of my journey. The accomplishments we’ve achieved and the goals we’ve reached are a testament to the support and love I’ve received along the way.
None of this would have been possible without my amazing husband, my dedicated team, my inspiring students, loyal clients, and my supportive family. Every mentor who has been a part of my life has played a role in shaping who I am today. Most importantly, I’ve embraced learning from every experience and every person I’ve encountered.
I wouldn’t change a thing, and I am deeply grateful for the life lessons we continue to learn each and every day. These lessons remind us to keep growing and to remain proud of the journey we’re on.
