Today we’d like to introduce you to S&A Events.
Hi S&A, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
What started as two friends helping plan family gatherings, celebrations, and community events eventually turned into something much bigger than we ever imagined. We’re Sabeera and Ariba, the duo behind S&A Events, and our story really began over 13 years ago through a friendship built on trust, creativity, and a shared love for bringing people together.
Long before S&A Events officially existed, we were always “the planners” in our friend groups and communities. From organizing Eid parties and school events to helping coordinate weddings for family and friends, event planning became second nature to us. We genuinely loved the process; not just the beautiful details, but the feeling of creating meaningful moments for people during some of the biggest milestones of their lives.
As the years went on, we noticed a growing need for wedding coordinators and planners who not only understood logistics and design, but who truly cared about the people behind the events. Especially within South Asian and multicultural weddings, we saw how overwhelming multi-day celebrations could become for couples and their families. We wanted to create a planning experience where couples felt supported, understood, and genuinely cared for throughout the process.
That’s how S&A Events was born.
What makes this journey so special to us is that our business is rooted in friendship. After 13 years of knowing each other, we’ve built a partnership that naturally works, we balance each other’s strengths, communicate effortlessly, and approach every wedding as a team. Our clients often tell us that working with us feels less transactional and more like having trusted friends by their side, and honestly, that’s exactly what we strive for.
Over the last few years, we’ve had the privilege of planning and coordinating weddings and events across Texas, from intimate Nikkah ceremonies to large multi-day wedding weekends. Every event teaches us something new and reminds us why we started this in the first place: to serve people during one of the most emotional and exciting times in their lives.
At the heart of everything we do is care. We care deeply about our couples, their families, their stories, and the experience they have throughout the planning process. For us, it’s never just about timelines, décor, or logistics; it’s about creating moments people will remember forever and making sure they feel fully present while living them.
S&A Events has grown so much from where we started, but our foundation remains the same: two friends with a passion for people, meaningful celebrations, and turning visions into reality.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road, and honestly, that’s what has made this journey so meaningful for us. Like many small business owners, we started S&A Events while balancing full-time jobs, personal responsibilities, and the uncertainty that comes with building something from the ground up. There were countless late nights, early mornings, long drives, and weekends spent working weddings while also trying to grow a business behind the scenes.
One of the biggest challenges was learning how to turn something we naturally loved doing into a structured business. Planning events for friends and family is very different from running a company professionally, managing timelines, vendor relationships, contracts, client expectations, and the unpredictable nature of weddings and live events. We’ve definitely had moments where we questioned ourselves, felt overwhelmed, or had to learn difficult lessons through experience.
Another challenge was navigating the emotional side of weddings. Weddings are beautiful, but they can also be stressful for couples and families. As planners, we often step into highly emotional environments where tensions are high and expectations are even higher. Learning how to remain calm under pressure while still giving every client our full attention and care was something that came with time and experience.
At the same time, building a business with one of your closest friends requires a lot of trust, communication, and understanding. Thankfully, our 13-year friendship became our greatest strength. We’ve grown together personally and professionally, and because we genuinely respect and support each other, we’ve been able to overcome challenges as a team.
Despite the struggles, every obstacle has reinforced why we do this. Seeing our couples fully present on their wedding day, watching families enjoy moments stress-free, and hearing how supported people felt throughout the process makes all the hard work worth it. We’re incredibly grateful for how far S&A Events has come, and we know we’re still only at the beginning of our journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At S&A Events, we specialize in wedding planning and coordination with a strong focus on South Asian and multicultural weddings, especially multi-day celebrations that require detailed logistics, organization, and seamless execution. From intimate Nikkah ceremonies to large-scale wedding weekends, we work closely with our couples to make sure every event feels personal, intentional, and true to their vision.
One thing we’ve become known for is our willingness to always find a solution instead of immediately saying “no.” Weddings are unpredictable, and we pride ourselves on being adaptable, calm under pressure, and fully committed to making things happen for our clients. Whether it’s handling last-minute changes, coordinating complex timelines, or helping families navigate stressful moments, we always try to approach every situation with patience, creativity, and care.
One of the accomplishments we are most proud of was planning and coordinating a 1,000+ guest wedding in just three months. It was an incredibly rewarding experience that pushed us creatively and professionally, and it reminded us how capable we are as a team when we trust each other and stay focused on serving our clients well.
But beyond any single event, we are most proud of how far we’ve come overall. Building a business from a shared dream between two friends into something trusted by so many couples is something we never take for granted. By the grace of God, the support of our families, and the trust our clients place in us, we’ve been able to grow S&A Events into something truly meaningful.
What sets us apart is the heart behind what we do. For us, wedding planning is not just about aesthetics or timelines, it’s about people. We genuinely care about our couples and their families, and we want them to feel supported throughout the entire process. Many of our clients become like friends by the end of their wedding weekend, and we think that personal connection is what makes our work so special.
At the end of the day, we want every couple to feel like they can fully enjoy their biggest moments while knowing someone they trust is taking care of everything behind the scenes.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
We believe the most important quality behind our success has been genuinely caring about people. Wedding planning is so much more than organizing timelines or managing vendors — it’s about understanding emotions, family dynamics, cultures, traditions, and the trust couples place in us during one of the biggest moments of their lives.
Because we care deeply about our clients, we approach every wedding with patience, flexibility, and a strong sense of responsibility. We treat every event as if it were for our own family, and we think people can truly feel that. Our clients know that we will show up for them, advocate for them, and do everything we can to make their experience smooth and memorable.
We also believe adaptability has played a major role in our growth. Weddings rarely go exactly as planned, especially large multi-day events, so being able to stay calm under pressure and find solutions quickly has been incredibly important. We’ve learned that success in this industry comes from being dependable, resourceful, and consistently showing up with a positive attitude, no matter the situation.
