Hi Sam, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started working as a hobbyist mechanic in 2004, worked on my car and continued to learn about automotive and truck mechanics. i realized that i enjoyed engine rebuilding, therefore i looked for complex projects that required complete teardowns and rebuilds. I work in Healthcare as a profession and this hobby was and is a good balance for me. During CoVID, i was able to continue in Healthcare and avoid burnout by having complex mechanic projects to counter the emotional effects of the pandemic.
I desired to have my own mechanic shop but did not know how and where to start. About 2 years ago, i started actively looking for warehouse space at the same time figuring out what i wanted to be proficient in RE: Automotive VS Truck mechanics.
I decided to focus on Truck repair and overhaul as a business model, but did not neglect my automotive repair and overhaul experience i had learned over the years.
I opened the business a year ago and we focus on Truck repair, maintenance and overhaul. We also have an Automotive division that repairs and overhauls passenger vehicles.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The main struggle for the business is getting our name out and building trust in the community. We have placed advertisements in different platforms and that has been a long process in patiently waiting to get more customers. We love what we do and would like the community to know what we do.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are building a focus on engine rebuilds and overhauls for commercial trucks and would like to specialize in a few brands and be proficient in that process. We would like to excel and showcase our work to businesses and consumers.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
We are meticulous at putting parts in labeled bins to facilitate in reassembly. We utilize service manuals for all the work we do, in order to ensure manufacture specific assembly. This ensures proper function and longevity of our work.
