Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Newberry
Hi Sean, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
OK, so let’s get a little deeper into the story growing up. It was mainly just me and my mom. I’ve lived quite a bit of places, but I was born and raised here in Dallas growing up. We never had the life that you could think with all the money it was actually quite the opposite we went to Food banks every weekend to get free groceries Growing up but life is great. I’m glad I’ve overcame some real hardship and struggles that I have and I’m not mad or sad that I had to go through anything I’m a big believer on Jesus Christ and I feel that you gotta go through some bad times to get to the good time but like I did say I’m 21 I just turned 21 in January. I’m from Dallas Texas, I do work a quite regular job right now, but hoping the modeling industry can get me out of that lol besides that around 2022 of September, I was a junior in high school going to my senior year. The girl I was dating we were together for three years. A dream come true kind of thing I was a high school varsity football player. She was on the firetruck crew from my school kinda like a movie scene. I ended up moving in with her whenever I was 17 I lived with her until I was 19. One morning, I got a call from a friend of mine saying that my girlfriend had died. I just couldn’t believe it. It was about 7 o’clock in the morning the start of my senior year about five days into the school year. That immediately woke me up, and I was already in shock, I immediately rushed to her house that was right down the street from mine and sure enough there was about seven cop cars, and a few ambulance out there mind you her dad was a police officer for Irving. We live together for two years. I stayed with her, but just that one night I didn’t go home to her house. That’s when my world had flipped around and did a 360, From there on out, I had to decide who I was and what my purpose was the first month or so I was lost and doing whole bunch of stuff I knew I shouldn’t have been doing, but I was trying to fill the void Shortly after I opened my eyes and realized I was going down the wrong path after she had left me so that’s when I started dedicating my whole entire days to the gym. I quit work and focused on me every single day I would go run 5 miles and dedicate at least 2 1/2 hours a day into the gym lifting weights fast-forward almost 3 years from now and here I am doing the same thing, lifting weights and running every single day along with working a construction job And modeling ever since that night that I lost my girlfriend I met God and I feel that he has been guiding me along the way ever since ever since I lost her be more grateful and go about my days with a better attitude towards everyone genuinely so fast-forward to now, which is March 7 1pm I just got off of my job. I am studying for my kinesiology class trying to get my personal trainer’s license here in a few hours. I will go to the gym come home cook and that will be my day and that’s how my days have been for these past 2 1/2 yearsso there’s a little bit more insight about me hopefully this helps. Thanks for your interest.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course not it’s been a whole bunch of ups and downs, but that’s what life is about learning to take a hit and keep going
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Like I said previously, I work in construction my previous jobs have just been a whole bunch of 9 to 5s but I specialize in modeling and I can do practically whatever type of modeling you would want me to do. I feel like I have the confidence and it looks to do anything 100% and be great at what I’m doing I’m most proud of being able to provide for my family it’s just me and my mom and my two dogs
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
oh of course I love taking new risks. If you don’t take a new risk that might be a little scary you won’t end up getting a reward out of it. I’m comfortable taking a risk. Just depends on what type lol
