Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelby Wilson.
Hi Shelby, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my photography business March of 2024. Although I’ve loved taking pictures since I was a little girl, mainly of animals and nature! Before I started offering sessions, I was very hesitant. I wondered if anyone would be drawn to my style of photography, or even want to book with me. I felt a sense of peace from the Lord, so I started my journey and haven’t looked back! I’m truly grateful for all of my friends and family that have encouraged me and helped me become the photographer I am today, and I hope to bring joy to those who allow me into they’re lives, capturing priceless memories. I aim to glorify the Lord with every session, making new friends along the way!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A lot of self doubt. It seemed very overwhelming to start, to put myself and my work out into the world, for people to see and judge. It took time and prayers to feel confident in myself! Knowing that I can do this, I can turn my dream into a reality!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do photography! Taking photos of couples, families, mothers, brings me so much joy! I love capturing love! I really enjoy taking photos of mothers with their children! As a mom myself I know how fleeting the first few months/years are! No need for a special occasion, memories happen daily! I would say my style of photography is documentary and cinematic. I lean into candid moments and helping my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera! I’m very proud of how my style has evolved and I’m blessed to be able to pursue this creative outlet!
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Trusting in the Lord, never forgetting why I started, and always being creative!
