Conversations with Shi’kia Pacheco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shi’kia Pacheco.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in Corsicana, Texas, and raised in Dallas, where family and creativity have always been at the heart of who I am. My journey into podcasting began in 2021 alongside my husband, Joshua. Together, we created a space to share real conversations and connect with others through honest storytelling.

In 2024, I ventured out on my own and launched The Wanderlust Podcast, a platform dedicated to women’s empowerment, self-discovery, and the lessons that come with life’s ups and downs. That chapter helped me find my voice and purpose in inspiring others through authenticity and growth.

After experiencing some of life’s challenges and transformations, I decided to bring everything back home—literally. My husband and I now run At Home Podcast with The Pachecos, where we document our everyday journey, our almost 11-year marriage, raising our daughter, and embracing a simpler, more intentional lifestyle on YouTube.

Alongside podcasting, I’m also building a brand that’s close to my heart: At Home, a line of all-natural products designed for healing and family care. As a mom, I struggled to find gentle, effective products for my daughter’s atopic dermatitis and our family’s sensitivities, including the sickle cell trait. That inspired me to create something safe, nurturing, and made with love — because healing starts at home.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. Life has brought its share of challenges — from losing family members to facing health crises, fertility struggles, and even moments of losing myself along the way. One of the biggest turning points for us was experiencing a period of being unhoused. It was a difficult time, but it taught us the true definition of home — that it’s not about where you live, but who you have beside you and the love you build together. Every struggle has shaped our resilience and deepened our purpose as a family and as creators.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work is centered around storytelling, healing, and family. I’m a podcast creator, content producer, and now a small business owner. I started podcasting as a way to share real, relatable conversations about life, love, motherhood, and growth. Over the years, I’ve hosted and produced several shows, including The Wanderlust Podcast and At Home Podcast with The Pachecos, which I now run with my husband. Through our YouTube channel, we focus on documenting our journey — marriage, parenting, and the everyday experiences that make life both challenging and beautiful.

What sets my work apart is authenticity. I don’t sugarcoat the process — whether it’s mental health, motherhood, or marriage, I speak from real experience. My goal has always been to create spaces that feel honest, healing, and inspiring.

I’m also proud to be expanding into the world of all-natural, homemade body care through my At Home brand. It started from a personal need — finding gentle, effective solutions for my daughter’s atopic dermatitis and our family’s skin sensitivities — and has grown into a passion for creating products made with love and purpose.

What makes me different is that everything I create, whether it’s a podcast episode or a healing cream, comes from lived experience. I pour heart, family, and authenticity into everything I do, and that’s what keeps people connected to the story behind it all.

What’s next?
Looking ahead, my biggest goal is to continue building a life rooted in peace, creativity, and authenticity. My family and I are working toward living off-grid in our tiny home — a dream that represents freedom, simplicity, and true connection to what matters most. I want to create a space where we can live more intentionally, grow our own food, and raise our daughter surrounded by nature and love.

At the same time, I plan to keep creating — from podcasting and storytelling to expanding my At Home brand and making authentic art that reflects our journey. Every step forward is about building something real, making memories as a family, and inspiring others to find beauty and purpose in their own path, no matter where life takes them.
