Today we’d like to introduce you to Shyanne Duckett
Hi Shyanne, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story starts as a child. I’ve always had the determination to become incredibly successful. By nature I’ve always been very competitive but never to be better than my peers, just better than who I was yesterday. That reflected in everything I did. Whether it was sports, showing animals, or becoming a mother I had to be the best at whatever I decided I wanted to do. I’ve also always had a giant heart. I consider myself an empath and love the opportunity to be able to help those around me. I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I considered a vet, pharmaceutical sales rep, etc. I just knew there were two things always important to me – I wanted to make serious money and I wanted the opportunity to make a positive impact in someone’s life. After graduating with a 4.0 I went on to college. My sophomore year (2020) is when the worldwide epidemic hit, Covid. That put a spin on the original plans. I came back home (Austin, TX) and started working a job that just got me by and didn’t make me happy. In the meantime my high school sweet heart and I learned we were to be expecting a baby girl. I dove completely into being a mother. I quit my job and my husband and I moved our family to Dallas when she was only a week old riding on faith for better opportunities. Little did we know how much we’d find. My husband found an amazing fruitful career in construction and I got to stay home and completely be mom to our little for a whole year. After a year of being a SAHM I just couldn’t stop fighting this inner calling to do more -To be more! Being a mother was everything to me but I had a whole other part to me that needed nurturing as well. I had been playing around with the idea of getting my Real Estate license but one day everything clicked and I knew this was my path. I dove into everything real estate. It made me excited!! I bought countless books over becoming a successful agent, RE Investing, and even simple money management. I studied hard and passed both test my first attempt and became a real estate agent! I wasn’t quit ready to leave my little so becoming an apartment locator was the first step for me. I was able to do this while still being a mom and I thought it’d allow me to dip my toes into the real estate world. I couldn’t of imagined how successful I ended up being my first year in – all the while being a full time mom and full time locator. I managed to help over 80+ people my first year alone as a locator and found an amazing passion for helping people find places they can call home! After a year as a locator I knew it was time to expand my business so I became a full service Realtor! I’m in my first month and already have my name on an MLS listing. I’m so excited to get to work and help as many people as I can! Buying or selling a home is a major life decision and I hope I get the opportunity to hold your hand and guide you through the process! My dreams and goals are HUGE and my story is still being written! This is only the first time you’ve heard of me but I promise it isn’t the last!!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have faced many, many obstacles in life. Growing up life was a little tricky but I think certain people face certain obstacles in life to get them prepared for what lies ahead. I required an armor a little bit thicker because if being successful was easy then everyone would do it!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work as a Realtor is just beginning but what sets me apart is my drive and ability to continue growing. I love to learn. I’m eager to learn anything and everything I can so I can constantly better myself. When you work with me as a Realtor your not just choosing a professional but hopefully a lifelong friend who genuinely wants to see you successful too!
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Both have been equally important in my life! That’s what I believe life is all about! Ying and yang! You have to go through the bad to learn how to appreciate the good.
